Ferry fares to Samui and Phangan cheaper after diesel price fall/levy cut- effective yesterday

Siam Rath reported that ferry fares from the mainland to Koh Samui and Koh Phangan in southern Thailand had been reduced after a fall in the price of diesel.

 

The new prices were effective from yesterday and are being implimented by both major companies that offer ferries.

 

Tax on diesel has also been reduced by the Thai cabinet to the tune of 1.34 baht/liter. That is effective until May 20th.

Raja said in an infographic that return foot passenger trips from Donsak to Samui would be reduced by 10 baht from 190 to 180 baht.

 

Prices for cars would be reduced from 610 to 580 baht.

 

Return passenger trips to Phangan were being reduced from 260 baht to 250 baht and 900 to 830 baht for cars.

 

Seatran also had similar reductions in a graphic that also contained the English language.

 

Other rates for heavier vehicles like trucks were also adapted accordingly as shown in column five of the companies' other infographics.

 

The price of diesel had been lowered by 50 satang a liter.
