School agency is asking me to get an enhanced DBS for teaching job.

Hey folks, 

 

I accepted a job in Bangkok and the agency is asking me to get an enhanced DBS. I had a basic DBS for my job in Vietnam, and got a police clearance for a teaching job in Taiwan. I have searched online and have no idea how to get an enhanced DBS as an individual. Is this a new requirement in Thailand?

I believe an individual cannot obtain it and it should be requested/filed by the school.

An Enhanced DBS check is the highest level of criminal record check carried out by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This level of DBS Check is only available to organisations that need to make 'recruitment or suitability decisions'.

I did too, many years ago. I had to wait 1 week, or I could have had it in a couple of hours as a special case. ????

Increasingly becoming a basic requirement for most reputable international schools. I’ve had to get in done for each of my last two jobs.
