What is the nearest border crossing from Pattaya?

Recommended Posts

I now live in Pattay on TVs and visa extension only. I work online only. I want to get another exempt entry by land border and then 30-day extension. What is the nearest border crossing from Pattaya? Is the travel easy? Is it by bus or by plane? I have an US passport.

Are you sure you got the noughts in the right place 20k .

Go by regular bus Pattaya , Morchit ?Bangkok, not certin think you can go from Ecamar Easten Bus Terminal up Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok>Arayprathet.

Since Covid not done a lot of bus traveling in Thailand, things have changed, check with The Transport Co, call center 1490, should be able to do it in a day, a long one, should be change from 2500 baht .

If crazy enough to attempt a border bounce at the Aranyaprathet/Poipet border crossing, there are casino buses that go directly from Pattaya to the border. However, only confirmed masochists should try this. It is a rogue crossing.

For what it is worth, you are correct that North Pattaya to Ekamai and Ekamai to Rong Kluea market (next to the border) exist. The connections can be tricky. Also possible is Jomtien to Suvarnabhumi and Suvarnabhumi to Aranyaprathet (limited trips per day). Not recommended.

I used Queen Vic in Soi 6 and they went to Kamriang, the next one further North and they charged 3700 Baht in a 7 seater VIP Mini Bus, a bit more expensive but reliable and a meal is included.

Previous time I went to Cambodia we went to Ban Pakkad.

Since retiring in 2015 many of the Visa extension visits were to Jomtien Immigration for my Non Imm O but the Thai authorities no longer accept my UK marriage certificate and Translations, out of date they say.

I can only summise that's because if you go for a marriage extension here in Thailand and got married here you have to submit a confirmation letter from your local Amphur confirming you are still married on the day of your application.

And the authorities here have no way of checking if you haven't divorced back in the UK.

Perhaps others have accurate information on this.

Yeah I believe it is a recent change, Jomtien Imm sent me to the Amphur office in Banglamung and it was there that they told me the Translations were out of date and would require a trip to the UK embassy Bangkok and the Embassy told me they could do nothing and gave me a letter with the procedure I must follow once back in the UK.

Good agency,  I recommend them.

The prices for the border runs have risen at least 50% since before the Russian/Ukranian thing. When the war stops, just watch and see how much their fee goes down. I bet it doesn't.

No! Because I have never heard of them, would you like to enlighten me? If I am wrong and "Who's" prices are much cheaper than the other ones, ie Manereet's, the one at the Victoria Bar in Soi6, then I will apologise.
