Am I now able to pay at checkout at Pattaya Makro with my credit card?  I used to have to pay in cash but heard from a friend that they may now accept credit cards.

I believe the only option to cash is scan QR code.via banking app.

AFAIK the only credit card that Makro accepts is the one from CitiBank other options are cash or as previously mentioned pay via QR code

YES….I have a Citi CC and use it at Makro

Wouldn't accept my cards a few days go. Paid cash

Mine is from Bangkok Bank so I guess the answer is no.

I always sa-kan at the checkout.

All the Makro's I've used accept Thailand issued Citi (now UOB) credit cards and have done for some years. Not sure about other cards.

Either PromptPay via your bank app or TrueMoney Wallet. Note that TrueMoney only works in Makro if it's funded by cash not by a credit card (even a Citi one).

But 7/11 (also part of CP together with Makro) Qr Code scan they do not accept.

 

They only accept 7/11 App , True Money App or Cash

I only use TrueMoney (linked to my credit card) at the Seven but do they accept credit cards at the counter?

I believe they don't but that said I only tried to give them my SCB Debit Card and they refused it. Only wallet or Cash they said

I've done QR at both my Local 7-11 and BigC.

Big C yes I do that all the time there so no Issues.

 

But 7/11 I have asked many times and every time it was declined and it was Wallet or Cash only they said

 

Edit: With QR Code Scan, I mean opening your Bank App (SCB, BBL, KSK Etc etc) and on terminal they show a QR code and you scan that with your Banking APP (not with 7/11 app or TrueMoney app)

Citibank, UOB is now charging 1900 a year for the privilege of having their credit card. Feels high. Use it a lot. Never once been charged a fee.

Does Makro accept a Citibank credit card issued in the USA?
