Social Media Posted March 19, 2023 Posted March 19, 2023 Former president Donald Trump has roundly rejected any investigations involving him, his campaign or business empire as a hoax, a fraud or a politically motivated hit job against him or his agenda. In January, his company was fined $1.6m after two of its entities were convicted of 17 felonies, marking the first time that the former president and his empire – bolstered by a “culture of fraud and deception,” according to prosecutors – faced criminal consequences after he spent decades trying to avoid them. Now at the centre of separate investigations from the US Department of Justice and from prosecutors in his hometown of New York and in Georgia, a state he lost to Joe Biden but where he pressed election officials to overturn the results, the leading 2024 Republican candidate for president has suggested that his supporters could respond to his election loss or potentially imminent indictments with violence. 2

Agree with all you have written but have a few remarks: "He's a kind of terrorist now." Now? He crossed that line when attempting to perform a coup. "He cares nothing about America. He's willing to destroy America just to save his grifter ass." And that's what he's been like since forever. What's scary is that it's blatantly obvious and yet millions voted for him. "I would rate America's enemies now this way: Russia, Trump, China" I would add Fox News somewhere near the top of that list. A propaganda for profit organization twisting the minds of millions of "non-critical thinkers". "The founders could only so much. They could have never imagined a trump." To be fair, it would take a particularly twisted and sick mind to imagine something as heinous as trump. 7 1 1 1 1
Popular Post Jingthing Posted March 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2023 There is the hope that his incitement of civil war can be seen by judges in cases as fair grounds to imprison and muzzle him, as would happen with any other TERRORIST. 4 1 1

Although Trump just asked his supporters to protest if he gets arrested , he didn't mention anything about "violence" , that bit was added by the journalist . 1 2
Popular Post SatEng Posted March 19, 2023 Popular Post Posted March 19, 2023 He did not specifically ask his supporters to use violence as that would open him to a charge of incitement, but he did use language very similar to Jan 6 "Protest - take our country back" The indictment he is facing relates to the payment to Stormy Daniels and campaign finance - which may seem minor but could be a criminal offence, a little like Al Capone being taken down for tax evasion. 2 1

Yes, Trump didn't tell his supporters to use violence BUT , that's what he probably meant and so may as well report it as Trump telling his supporters' to use violence ???? I do think that that can be classified as being Fake news , Trump telling his supporters to use violence 2 2

It seems that Biden's supporters really want the Republicans to violently protest and riot, seems like they are egging them on and encouraging them . Then they can go on about Trump trying to have a revolution and coup and being a fascist dictator blah blah blah All they need is there to be a protest turned violent . Even if there is no voilent protest , the media will probably report it as being a violent protest , because that's what the peaceful supporters would have been thinking 1 1 1 3

Policy, a sitting President can't be prosecuted for a crime while in office. So those first 4 years don't count. Second, since then, Trump's teams of lawyers have done their best to delay proceedings against him. This has, on occasion, earned them severe reproaches from judges. Most of their attempts ultimately fail, but it does eat up a lot of time. And while he hasn't yet been found guilty, the business he headed, the Trump Organization, was indicted on 17 criminal counts and was found guilty only of 17 of them. 1

He says take care of the problem. That gets the message accross. 4 1

And one crucial way they differ is that the juries are not vetted and selected from a larger pool to warrant their impartiality. 2
