It means nothing as no country has ever been communist.

Total BS!

A communist state, also known as a Marxist–Leninist state, is a one-party state that is administered and governed by a communist party guided by Marxism–Leninism. Marxism–Leninism was the state ideology of the Soviet Union, the Comintern after Bolshevisation and the communist states within the Comecon, the Eastern Bloc, and the Warsaw Pact.[1] Marxism–Leninism currently still remains the ideology of a few parties around the world. After its peak when many communist states were established, the Revolutions of 1989 brought down most of the communist states, however, it is still the official ideology of the ruling parties of China, Cuba, Laos, and Vietnam.[2] During most of the 20th century, before the Revolutions of 1989, around one-third of the world's population lived under communist states.[3]

Ideology of a party is not how the country is actually run. In no country has the economy and assets been jointly owned by all its citizens. Ever.

Nothing about Putin is communist. The term is flung around by the right as an epithet, much like woke. It means nothing as no country has ever been communist.

True there is no such thing as communism in it's pure form as espoused by Marx, human beings are just too selfish. Modern 'Communism' is actually totalitarianism imposed on the population by a small  elite just like Nazi's did. However I still stand by using the term communism to describe it since it is now used by everyone, not just right wing, to describe such despotic governments.

Why not call it by its correct name, fascism? You only use the term as an epithet while admitting it isn't an accurate description. What';s that about? It's the same as woke, the right use it in a polar opposite meaning to it's actual meaning.
