I know I asked this question a few years ago, but the site that was recommended to me back then seems to have been taken over by hackers/viruses. I recall having to enable then disable the extention a few times to get it going. Never had a problem with viruses or hackers. It downloads any YouTube video and you can download it as mp4 or mp3. Useful if you just want the music from a video. It's free but I paid some trivial amount like $10 lifetime to add additional features. There are no ads from YouTube or the software. Often, a video download will slow to 31kps as it reaches close to the end of a video, and they told me it's because of something YouTube does as you aren't supposed to be able to download their videos. If you're running Linux it's easy-breezy and want to convert them to MP3 files: ffmpeg -i filename.mp4 filename.mp3 That's it.
