There does seem to be disproportionate number of bad actors in the military here. Likely including the senior officers, but we know they are untouchable.

So, the real question is this. We know what you guys take from society. So, what do you give back? What do the people get, in exchange for those hundreds of billions of baht you guys vacuum from the people?

Very sad.

I'm guessing Phumiphat was a spoiled little rich kid who had never been told No and couldn't handle it.

from the article:

son of high-ranking military officer Gen. Somchai Chaiwanichaya.

If there was a free and vibrant press, plus opposition parties with some power, this sad incident would be more fully explored. For example, why does the alleged perp have so many weapons? How can he afford 2 million baht worth or watches?

Of course those are not actual questions, because everybody in Thailand knows the answer, just as everybody in Thailand knows it will never never never change.

Yep. What an idiot. 18 years old, wealthy, protected. A long luxurious, priviliged life ahead of him.

And he ends it all over some plastic 'influencer'. You have to wonder about the intelligence, you really do.

Gun used to shoot dead net idol in Bangkok belongs to ex-boyfriend’s military officer father

New-Project-12.jpg

The gun used to shoot dead “Gigi” the net idol and her air force cadet ex-boyfriend “Ikkyu” in Bangkok, Thailand, yesterday is licensed and belongs to Ikkyu’s father, who is a high-ranking military officer, according to a spokesperson for the National Police Agency Pol. Lt. Gen. Archayon Kraithong.

Police have completed their assessment of the CCTV footage and confirm that no third party entered Gigi’s room before or after the shooting. It is believed that Phumiphat “Ikkyu” Chaiwanichaya shot dead Supitcha “Gigi” Pridacharoen before shooting himself.

Gigi’s father questioned how an 18 year old managed to carry a gun into his daughter’s room when Thai law requires that anyone applying for a gun license must be at least 20 years old.

Bangkok police have assured the public that they will investigate the shooting death of a well-known Thai Internet idol and her boyfriend in a straightforward and fair manner, without outside interference.

The woman, 20-year-old Supitcha, aka “Gigi”, and her boyfriend, a second-year army cadet at the Armed Forces Academies Preparatory School, identified only as “Phumipat”, were found dead yesterday (Wednesday) in the former’s condominium in the Asoke-Phetchaburi area of Bangkok. They had apparently been shot in the head and two spent shells were found in the room.

Pol Maj-Gen Atthaporn Wongsiripreeda, commander of the First Division of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, said today that he is waiting for autopsy and forensic reports, particularly regarding the gunpowder residue.

why would there be outside interfence - what was the point of this announcement ?

they were murdered - do your job and find out who did it

motive - money or an ex boyfriend is a good place to start

Read: murder/suicide.

Strange how the Thaiger article above fully names the now-deceased gun nut suspect, and states the obvious that he likely shot and killed his ex-GF before shooting himself.

The ThaiPBS article, on the other hand, strangely says the guy has only been identified by his first name, which is ridiculously false, since he's been fully named since the very beginning. And makes no mention at all of who likely shot who -- afraid to step on the Army's toes, I wonder?

Meanwhile, the plot thickens even further with the disclosure that the handgun used in the shooting supposedly belongs to the shooter's father, a former high ranking Army major general. Anyone want to lay odds on the likelihood that the Thai police will end up finding the father won't be held legally responsible for allowing the son access to the gun?

Perhaps because his Daddy is an air force general

Poor lass. RIP. 2 young lives ended so early. The girl a victim of being born and bred in a patriarchal society that venerates subservient female identity, and non-stop obsessional love addiction and calls it 'true love'.

A violent, obsessive boyfriend, an unsecured gun, all ending in the death of two people.
