It was my post with the point being I get why some billionaires like Trump. I just don’t understand why non-racist, working class people do any more. I get that he was appealing back in 2020 with the promise of bringing back industry to the US (a mostly failed policy) and distance the US from world politics (easier said than done) but in the 4 years all he did was reduce taxes on the rich, demonize immigrants, weaken Americas standing on the world stage, set neighbor against neighbor and cry like a baby when he legitimately lost the election. 
Everything that came out of his mouth then was a lie and I don’t see any change now. But people have voted against their own interests for millennia so I suppose that’ll happen again in 2024 (if he’s not in jail).

So technically he is correct, yes OK it's not a national average but he did not claim the national average was $9. I'd say Trump is clearly more on the factual side than the fact checker. And most of the fact checks are questionable for the same reason.

And of course, people who watched Trump's speech perfectly knew it was only in Mendocino! ????

 

Anyway, it was not his biggest lie about energy. His biggest lie was to pretend that global oil prices depend on production in the U.S. Global prices depend on the global supply and demand, and a small increase or decrease in U.S. production has very little impact.

I do recall the topic of the USA's debt coming up about 20 years ago and the USA's solution seemed to be to spend more and increase the debt .

I'm not sure what point your trying to make, his promise was to decrease it, instead he increased it even before the pandemic.

Trump did state that he would decrease  the National debt over the period of eighth years , the idea was to give tax cuts to people and that would spur the economy , then Covid came long and Trump wasn't able to continue his plan and he didn't serve eight years

That idea didn't work out to well for him, to achieve anything like it would have needed him to be elected again. He lost, although he falsely claims it was rigged  and there was certainly no indication that his promise was going in the right direction anyway, even before the virus hit.

That was a an election campaign promise.

 

As he only did keep 23% of those promises, I would suggest that his statement was disingenuous.

 

Trickledown economics is a fallacy perpetrated  by those who are ingratiated by it. 

 

And did Trump ingratiate himself.

 

Though Trump rarely paid any tax, the richest only then paid an average tax rate of 23% while the bottom half of households paid a rate of 24%.

 

And the middle and lower classes would have particularly loved the personal jet purchase full tax right off.

So , that isn't a promise , so he cannot be accused of breaking promises or lying in this instance

To me the man did nothing of any great worth unless (as I stated earlier) you are a billionaire. He doesn't deserve to be POTUS again on 6 main things:-
1. He defrauded his own charity.

I am not sure where the location of the conference was, but my point was that Trump spoke about the subject of reducing the National debt in the conference which is what this thread is about
