  • While Immigration at Chiang Mai airport rarely denies visa exemptions, it has been known. If you were going to try to enter at either Bangkok airport, I would not fancy your chances at all. At Chiang

That would depend upon the IO!

Having lived in Thailand for almost 10 years

on a Non-B, I went back to Thailand on my

1st visa-exemption this year and that by land,

left and flew back to DMK 4 months later,

when I got stopped by the IO, who started

to ask me why I had had so many Thai stamps

in my passport. I answered him that it was

just because I had lived in Thailand on a

Non-B for the last 10 years, but then I got

taken to the office, where another officer

that attended me was so rude and arrogant!

All I had to do was fill in a form where I had to

write the reason for visiting Thailand again,

They let me in in the end, with nothing written

or stamped in my passport except the entry

stamp! I was never ever worried that I might

be denied entry, though! No other passenger

was at Passport Control when I got there after

the toilet, so the IO, who seemed young and

unprofessional to me, must of killed his time

by acting bossy to me!

Good luck!

I'm in Thailand now. The IO flipped thru my passport and saw the previous stamps, and then asked how long I will be in Thailand, and asked to see my return ticket. I'm glad I bought the onward ticket, because this time it was needed.

Anyway, he stamped me in.

Thanks for update.

Thinking this is important shift for those entering visa exempt with several entries.

Perhaps you would of had more grilling without that onward flight.

Did you buy actually ticket or "rent a ticket"

Just rent a ticket from onwardticket.com

Thanks for the update.

So if I arrive in Phuket airport January 14 after having been in my home country (Denmark) since June 2023, I should be okay entering Visa exempt? I have a return ticket back to Denmark on January 22, so it will just be a short visit.

Oh, before that I stayed in Thailand several years just using Tourist visa, visa exempts and covid extensions btw. Guess I have just been lucky becuase never got questioned before.
