Bangkok – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) showcased an exciting taste of the various cultural, historical, and culinary experiences on offer in the Thai capital to the French expat community in a special ‘One Day Trip of Art and Local Experiences in Bangkok’ on 24 June 2023.

Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, TAT Governor, said “Enjoyed by all, this one-day trip focused on showing some of the new and different ways to experience tourism services and products in Bangkok, in line with the ‘Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign and the direction towards meaningful travel experiences.”

Lending its support to the activity was the Bangkok Accueil, which works to help French and French-speaking expats integrate into life in Thailand. It currently has around 275 French families registered in its membership, a group with high potential and purchasing power and which does regular humanitarian activities.

Participants on the tour enjoyed a fun day that saw them travel around Rattanakosin Island – Bangkok’s historic old town area and home to famous landmarks like the Grand Palace, Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew), and Temple of the Reclining Buddha ( Wat Pho) – by MuvMi Electric (EV) Tuk Tuk, explore local experiences and culinary in the Bang Lamphu and Tha Phra Athit areas, and visit the National Museum for a guided tour of the complex in French.

The National Museum Bangkok offers scheduled foreign language tours every Wednesday and Thursday in English, French, German (Wednesdays only), and Japanese. Also now available is a museum guidebook in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish or Chinese that can be downloaded free at www.mynmv.com/museum-guide-free-download.

The foreign language tours and guidebook are provided by National Museum Volunteers (NMV). The topics covered include pre-Thai and Thai art, Thai history and culture, Buddhism and the Buddhaisawan Chapel. Tailormade tours for tour groups and other groups can be arranged in English, French, German, Japanese, and other languages.

Programme highlights landmarks and activities in Bangkok’s old town area including Rattanakosin Island, Bang Lamphu and Tha Phra Athit as well as the National Museum.
