Former President Trump said it was “probably” a mistake to appoint Christopher Wray to lead the FBI, attributing the decision partly to a recommendation from former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R).

In an interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo set to air Sunday, Trump, who rarely acknowledges making an error, was asked if it was a mistake for him to put Wray in charge of the FBI. The bureau has recently faced unrelenting criticism from Republicans, including the former president.

“Sadly, it probably was,” Trump said in an excerpt released Friday. “You know, he was recommended very strongly by Chris Christie, who is, you know, a sad case.”

Trump went on criticize Christie over his poll numbers in the GOP presidential primary, where the former New Jersey governor has typically polled in the low single digits. Christie has spent much of his campaign attacking Trump over his character, saying he is unfit to serve another term in the White House.

No. It's a toss-up between Wray and Garland.

When she's in a bad mood she's obnoxious to everyone.

Really? Can you offer some instances where Wray or Garland made insulting comments publicly about those with whom they disagreed? Or when did they behave rudely?

Gaslighting and lying are IMO very unpleasant and rude. But thank you for the grammar advice.

Yes, you keep on with claims of gaslighting and lying. And every time you offer evidence I and others shoot it down. And you never respond to those critiques. You just repeat your proven lies over and over again. Burisma anyone?

Trump the traitor spews forth once again.

He's now under investigation for the highest crimes imaginable; Sedition, stochastic terrorism, treason, espionage, aiding a foreign adversary, and this leaves aside the severe civil matters regarding massive, prolonged, systematic, and deliberate tax fraud. of the American Government and therefore its People.

A real piece of work is Trump.

If you believe that this sick, sick unhinged man was good in any way for the USA or the world then you, yes you who is reading this needs to seek help because you have been groomed, seduced, and conditioned by a sociopath and his sociopathic evil cult of MAGA.

They are still there and still think the same. Sad to say they will work for the destruction of American democracy for decades to come.

I'm thinking that so many extremists gave money to Trump in response to his lies that they feel invested in him and will not just let this pass.  In some ways, like Jan 6, it will be better in the longer run as the extremists get flushed out early. MAGA is doomed, it will just take until the next election to do it, unless Trump is jailed before then.

I will not even attempt to explain the mind of the ones who support this vile man.

It may not even be possible for a sane person to do.

In the end it would be as disgusting and futile as cleaning a stopped toilet that you know will soon be overflowing with feces again soon anyway.

What Trump actually means is that he tried to weaponize the FBI, DOJ and IRS against his political opponents but couldn't pull it off. So instead blames them for his failings.

Quite a long list in this article on his many attempts.

All the ways Trump, not his foes, sought to ‘weaponize’ the government

the picture that is crystal clear is one of Trump, at the very least, wanting to weaponize the government against his foes.

“He was always telling me that we need to use the FBI and IRS to go after people,” Kelly told the Times last year, adding that “it was constant and obsessive and is just what he’s claiming is being done to him now.”

In addition to Kelly, we have Berman, Barr and Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton all pointing to Trump’s own sins on this front.

Besides Wray and Christie, it seems as though Trump 'who knows the best people', had a 92% turnover in his 'last administration' by the end of his tenure and has lost more ever since.

And of those who remained 'loyal' most are in jail or soon will be.

So in the future, Trump will be able to run his 'new administration' with them from his new 6x4 Oval Office.
