Source for high quality outdoor gear-making materials

Featured Replies

I am looking for a supplier of high quality outdoor gear making fabric & materials in BKK.

I am not talking about the stuff they use for the fake Lowe Pro bags etc.

Cordura, pack cloth, ripstop, YKK zippers by the meter in various sizes, Gore-tex, Dermizax, Malden Mills pile fabrics.

Webbing, trim tapes, V69 poly thread, Quality flat and cord elastic, cord locks, ITW Fastex nylon buckles/sliders/ladders etc.

Thanks

Several years ago, a friend set himself up to make high quality courier bags.  He gave it a go but getting exactly the same quality materials you seek daunted him.  From time to time he'd find small amounts scouring Facebook but could never get consistent suppliers of specific materials or colors, genuine Codura especially.  He finally gave it up.

Maybe try punching some of those fabric type names, etc into Lazada and Shopee. Also FB Marketplace as mentioned above.

You could also try talking to the Indian-Thais (they can often speak English) around Prahurat as a starting point, or even your nearest tailor shop if in a touristy area.

Good luck.
