Weed doesn't cause this kind of thing. In fact the opposite is true. Drunkenness does.

  • Absolutely. No way was weed involved. He would be going around hugging the monks and offering pizza as elms.

haha, so the "dregs" don't just gravitate towards the bars but also the temples.

Why do the media brand him as a cannabis smoker? He clearly isn't.

Trying to blame this on Cannabis is so unfair...Anyway, who is going to buy it?

Lots of ordinary Thais who don't use cannabis will buy it. Anyone who does use or has used cannabis will know it is total nonsense. Maybe cannabis was thrown in on top of drunkenness or hard drug use, but it alone sure as hell isn't the cause of this kind of destructive behaviour. Makes me ashamed to be an Australian as well as hate the guy for adding fuel to the fire of the anti cannabis campaigners.

Probably part of the Government influenced media initiative to label as many negative situations on cannabis in addition to anything else

Yumm

He was probably fed up with the noise pollution the temples generate

Probably sat up drinking until 5.30 am and happened to have some wacky backy in his pocket.

Shame if he had been smoking weed he would have gone to 7/11 and been back home with a bag full of crisps and chocolate.

That's what ALL foreigners come here for. Don't you read the Tourism Authority of Thailand statistics?

They got the best STUFF in the temples.......

This has reverberations for all of us expats. It must not be easy for our hosts, The Thais, to see this in the same amusing way as we might see it.

Consider how we would feel if foreigners behaved the same way in our country.

Yes, I do wish that people were "educated" as to the different effects of marijuana and alcohol! He may however have been on "yaba" which can cause such erratic behaviour.

Anyway,"Chonburi — An Australian tourist, reported by some Thai media to allegedly be under the influence of cannabis,......" You would think that "some Thai media"  would know the difference, and to report it as such, they must surely have some kind of evidence to justify their claims? Or maybe one of the locals/monks said "I think he was under the influence of cannabis"?

I hope he does jail time and is banned from entry to Thailand again.

Adolf was a popular Austrian name.

This was bound to happen.
