In a surprising twist of events, a newly acquired pickup truck with a red license plate, indicating its fresh out-of-showroom status, was involved in a significant collision on the same day in northern Thailand.

Miraculously, all six occupants of the vehicle, heading from Udon Thani province to Nakhon Nayok province, walked away from the accident unharmed. The accident is suspected to have resulted from potential fatigue and misjudged manoeuvres.

The incident was shared by a rescue worker affiliated with a Nakhon Ratchasima organisation under the TikTok handle @nayrescue.

The brand new vehicle was reportedly retrieved yesterday morning and met with the accident later that same evening. The severe mishap resulted in extensive damage to the vehicle, rendering it inoperable.

To be honest it doesn't look to be a brand new pickup, the wheels don't look like standard wheels which are on a new Mitsubishi Triton, and the white pickup with black roof is not standard so either its a second hand pick up and new owner, however good to see that no one was injured in the accident, car can be replaced but people can not

Many years the Mrs and I bought a new Triton truck, after a few months, the brother-in-law wanted to borrow it and took a trip from Pattaya to Phetchabun, the truck was so smooth, cool and relaxing to drive, the BIL fell asleep at the wheel, totaling the truck. Thanks to the air bags & seat belts, he and his gf were able to walk away.

So, from showroom to scrap yard all in the light of the same day.

Nothing left but the monthly payments!

And memories of a shiny new ride.

With all the Accidents, I would expect to see " right-offs " stacked 100 Meters high in huge Yards

Havnt seen any Yards in 15 Years of living here

Meh; just another crap driver, must have been the fault of those red stickers, making it go too fast.

Probably not because Thai insurance companies will repair if they can save any money on a right off settlement . I have seen this twice where badly damaged pick ups were repaired and one of them had a complete new 4 door cab fitted and it took 2 or more months to repair or thats how long it was to wait .

If he bought the truck on credit and had only third-party insurance, he'll be paying for his brief ownership for quite some time.

Normally - yes! but being Thailand it still looks to be in "fair" condition and will be rebuilt and sold on to an unsuspecting customer (one of the reasons to be very wary when buying a secondhand vehicle in Thailand). For starters, I have seen a bent chassis being pulled back into reasonable shape with chains and pulleys!
