Abigail Jo Shry accused of leaving voicemail at federal courthouse using racist term for US district judge Tanya Chutkan

 

A Texas woman has been arrested and charged with threatening to kill the federal judge overseeing the criminal case against the former US president Donald Trump in Washington DC, and a member of Congress.Abigail Jo Shry of Alvin, Texas, called the federal courthouse in Washington DC and left the threatening message, using a racist term for the US district judge Tanya Chutkan, on 5 August, court records allege. Investigators traced her phone number and she later admitted to making the threatening call, according to a criminal complaint.

 

In the call, Shry told told the judge, who is overseeing the election conspiracy case against Trump: “You are in our sights, we want to kill you,” according to the documents. Prosecutors allege Shry also said: “If Trump doesn’t get elected in 2024, we are coming to kill you.” She also threatened to kill Sheila Jackson Lee, a Texas Democrat representative running for mayor of Houston, according to court documents.A judge earlier this week ordered Shry jailed. Court records show Shry is represented by the Houston public defender’s office, which did not immediately return a message on Wednesday asking for comment.

I agree the trump supporters need to know there are consequences for doing and or threatening the rule of law,unfortunately trump due to his Statius as a ex president is still allowed to get away with it I sincerely hope that changes!

Hardly. If he took the 400 million his father gave him in the 60's and invested it in the s&p 500 he would be worth much more than the paltry billion he's worth now. And he wouldn't be facing prison in multiple indictments.

I am old.  I have seen a lot of presidents come and go. Repbulicans and Democrats.  Good and not so good.

 

I never thought i would see any american president or former president not come out to forcefully condemn anyone who threatened a judge or prosecutor in his name. 

 

But i was wrong.  Not only has trump not condemed it he has encouraged it. 

 

Also still waiting for the republican senate and house "leaders" to publicily condemn it.  Lindsey?  Mitch?...as pink floyd asked, "is there anybody out there"?

For myself the reality reset is the way the GOP members and right-wing media are openly fostering an anti-US attitude.  Merely being against the VN War back when was enough to brand you a traitor, an America hater, "love it leave it!", "go to USSR if you don't like it here," etc. 

But now the media outlets that promote themselves as small-minded conservative patriots are zealously denouncing anything American in world affairs, down to US players in international sports.  You have to wonder how the other countries' players interpret this.  Lots more of this kind of thing out there that is all pretty obvious. 

Again it goes back to the orange one at the top, probably the single-  most egregious act in US geo-political history is the US president going before the TV cameras of the world and saying he puts in faith in a blatant foreign adversary  over his intelligence agencies (Helsinki). 

Watch the anti-American patriots respond to this with a smiley.  Then they should shop for a flight to Hungary or Belarus, one-way ticket.
