What's so good to retire Vietnam?

Featured Replies

Just watched a YouTuber saying from August 15, that Vietnam now has introduced the 90 day visa again .

I have absolutely no idea about Vietnam,it's one Asian country I have never been to .

Any expats in here who have retired to Vietnam?

What's the expat areas?

How is it financially to live there compared to say Thailand?

comfortable living ?

I imagine it's more modern than say Philippines and Cambodia?

Is Vietnam the upcoming retirement destination?

Went 3 times, didn't love it. No Buddhism, no sanuk, too many samey spring rolls. Hanoi over HCM 10 to 1.

If you go, allow plenty of time for a visa. We booked one that was supposed to show up in my inbox in 3 days. It took 9 days. Had to blow off a flight. Maybe consider paying a premium for an online agent.

I don't know about retiring, but a short visit was fun.
Prices are very low, and encountered some extremely friendly locals.

I understood the appeal quickly.

Vietnam has some mainland China vibes to a limited extent.

Same as cambodia/thailand.
Ph is a whole different thing.

as far as i know, vietnam has no retirement visa option.

but someone else on here might know if there is one.
