Paid and then at the door the guy started checking our bill as they normally do. (Which I normally find a total nuisance) His checking went on and on and on and talking to the Cashier who scanned all the items and even removing all items from the cart etc. To make a long story short, the billing system of the Store charged us 4000 THB+ for a pack of 2 Solar Spanner Wrenches (which actually cost 52 THB) So thanks to the guy, who did the checking, we got almost 4000 THB back. The issue in the end was that A) the person who put the barcode on, put on the price of the WHOLE box instead of a single pair B) the cashier did not pay attention to what she was scanning. The Service counter, where we got our money back, was not at all pleased. Of course in the end we tipped the guy well. And we bought some expensive items (cordless drill from DeWalt with extra batteries 20V 5A) and lots of Solar Panel related stuff etc so I never thought about that the price was that high (Please note Total Bill was over 25k THB) Just a normal day in LoS 5555555555555555 Edited August 25, 2023 by MJCM Added price of total bill 1 1 2

There is 1 hardware store where they have the Security Guard checking the bill when you walk out, he just stamps the bill ????

But I think our bill was approx 1 meter long, lots of individual solar connectors and they scan them 1 by 1 by 1 by 1 etc etc etc. But you have a point, but again GOOD that you have those bill checkers (if they do their job correctly (as this one did). But afterwards we went to a grocery store and I had the wife check every item on the bill before we went out of the door (and the Bill was a lot longer then the bill from the hardware store) 1
phetphet Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 My GF is a stickler for checking bills. Especially restaurants. I've been surprised at the number of times she has spotted an error, wrong food ,drink etc., added to bill. 1
carlyai Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 I very rarely check the bill unless it is something that really sticks out. My local shop under charged me B100 the other day. Told wifey the next day who paid the money. I had no idea, but they said sorry the next time I saw them. 1

dingdongrb Posted August 25, 2023 Posted August 25, 2023 I watch as each item is scanned and my brain is like a computer. I know, most times, what the total bill should roughly be. I do know exactly what change (if any) I should get back and verify it, always! I have corrected cashiers numerous times. Both for my benefit and theirs. Just last week I corrected a cashier as she scanned one item and then hit the x4 key on the register thinking I bought 4 when in reality I bought 2 of 2 different items. Yes, they looked identical but one was actually a little bigger than the other so different pricing.
