Visa Choices

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

Due to flights mix up I'm flying in on Dec 5 leaving on Feb 6  which I believe is 63 days!

Any advice on best way to go about Visa options  (Tourist, No Thai family etc)

Thanks for advice.

64 Days total stay.

Single entry Tourist Visa 60 days.

30 day extension at Immigration. 1,900 baht.

Best you can do on visa exempt, is 30+30 day extension, that does not get u to 63 days though.

A tourist visa will get you 60+30 day extension, which meets your 63 day requirement.

Enter visa exempt then apply for extension = 30+ 30.

Then apply for another extension and you will be refused and given 7days to exit Thailand.

Or Overstay by 3 days = 1500 baht.

Or enter visa exempt and take lovely trip out of Thailand and return visa exempt.

That equals 30 day Thailand+ 3 day min place like Saigon + 30 day visa exempt from Saigon to Bangkok.

Forget SETV that's overkill

Unless you really want to make a special trip outside Thailand for a further visa exemption, a tourist visa is not overkill in comparison. It is one of the rational options to avoid an overseas trip. You are correct that a second denied extension, using the seven days you are given when ordered out of the country is a reasonable alternative.

Best advice, particularly if from a country that can enter Vietnam visa exempt.

Other great alternatives would be Luang Prabang or Langkawi.

Without an SETV you may well be refused bording on your flight

So if you are going to enter exempt and then fly out in the middle, that needs booking before you leave.
