BANGKOK, Sept 7 (TNA) — Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin announced during his keynote address at the Anti-Corruption Day 2023 to eradicate unethical practices including the buying and selling of state officials’ positions and his government will bring in technology to help us achieve transparency of the public sector.

Speaking at a forum to mark Thailand’s Anti-Corruption Day on Wednesday, Mr Srettha, who is also the Finance Minister, said Thailand is ranked 101 globally in the Corruption Perceptions Index, and fourth in ASEAN. The event was hosted by the Anti-Corruption Organisation of Thailand (ACT) at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal in Bangkok.

In addition to create direct damage to the public sector, he said, corruption problems also caused distrust among investors which could lead to the economic recession and continuous impact against the GDP growth as well.

I got a receipt for my certificate without even asking, as I have for every other transaction at the IO at Kamphaeng Phet. Not ALL IO's are the same or corrupt.

Just how do you get a receipt for something that is free, there is no 'Official' charge for an express service.

Every new government since I arrived in Thailand in the eighties made the exact same promise, that this time they really gonna crack down on corruption. How many have delivered: 0

When you yourself are corrupt, you are not going to eradicate corruption. A couple of police officers will be transferred to inactive posts.

Another good place is to demand that the 3 P's and ALL of the other ministers from the illegal coup government release all the details of their finances since 2014.

Until the details are released all of them should be held in jail until they do. As is required by the constitution.

Prayuth however refused point blank to do so. Start with him.

u r 200% correct Bill, unfortunately we still have some people here who must have a blind love for the 3 P's as anything I post something about them I got a SAD emoji, it appears u r lucky as u didn't get any  555

5555555, that's funny! How many times have we heard this throughout the years and various administrations. Wait till the mountains of brown envelopes start getting distributed, then it all goes back to same same different day. Greed is a hard thing to change.

Is he trying to emulate George Carlin? For a PM who was installed based on corruption, and the theft of an election from the people, to say he vows to eliminate corruption, is a bit like Trump saying he vows to offer transparency, be honest, and honor election results.

Not gonna happen. Not with him and not with the morally bankrupt PT/Army partnership in place. If anything, this was all about maintaining the gravy train, not stopping it. Who does this joker think he is fooling?

Amazing Thailand, indeed !

Day 1: doing what he was told to do by histhe "Uncles".

Day 2: Allowed to say what he wanted, because no one in Thailand or beyond will believe it, or take the slightest bit of notice!

Humans are not good at preventing "acting for the greater good" morphing into "acting for self interests".

When push comes to shove we go 'post apocalyptic survivor mentality' at the drop of a hat.

And in the end many in that picture are already richer than sh????t so they can walk away no harm no foul... with whatever pensions they get.  It's the same almost everywhere I suppose.
