At a briefing on the progress of the exposition project, during his visit to Udon Thani yesterday (Friday), the prime minister told those at the meeting that the request for 3 billion baht fund is unacceptable because the government has a limited budget and it must be allocated to other equally important projects.

Well that's a slap in the face they weren't expecting...

3 bullion baht gift has been rejected.

Horticulture - the new word for "sustainable tourism"? Well, as the saying goes "every day is school day".

Since the horticulture show is three years ahead, the Udonthanian powers-to-be can calm down; by then this country has seen the departure of the sitting ducks in the government halls and, most likely, the "good old days are back again" - or not. We shall see ????

Typical of many govt funded projects in Thailand.  Get allotted an initial BIG amount which was the amount originally requested to fully fund the project, but later come back with puppy dog eyes sayings it's not enough and more BIG money is required to best serve the country.

The graft on this must be staggering.

This event runs for 4 1/2 months.

EXPO LOCATION: Nong Dae Wetland, Kut Sa Sub-district, Mueang Udon Thani District, Udon Thani Province

PARK SIZE: 1,650,000 m² (165 hectares)

Go to the website, they have all the great news about the expo and they have a link to the official website to view but it comes back with "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable" Maybe they need the extra 3 Billion to get the website working?

What the "503" message may mean.

The HTTP 503 Service Unavailable error means that a website can't be reached at the moment because the server is not ready to handle the request. This could happen because it's too busy, under maintenance, or something else which requires a deeper analysis.
