Paetongtarn Shinawatra ready to re-spark her political career this October as Pheu Thai leader

Paetongtarn Shinawatra is expected to be a candidate for the leadership of the Pheu Thai Party when the party meets in a General Assembly on October 16th to elect new party executives. There may be some opposition to her candidacy.

Paetongtarn Shinawatra was a consistent favourite choice for PM among the public up to the point when Pheu Thai broke off its coalition government agreement with the Move Forward Party in August this year. The decision is believed to have cost the party heavily in terms of public support. However, her emergence as party leader after October 16th may herald further significant political developments in 2024.

Despite not being among the list of cabinet ministers in the new government of Srettha Thavisin, Thaksin Shinawatra’s youngest daughter Paetongtarn looks set to be elected as the leader of the Pheu Thai Party on October 16th. There is also speculation that the 37-year-old who in recent times was the country’s most popular choice for Prime Minister may yet emerge as a contender for the role going forward.

Paetongtarn Shinawatra is highly tipped to become the next leader of the ruling Pheu Thai Party following the resignation of Dr Cholnan Srikaew in recent weeks before he was appointed Minister for Public Health in the government of Srettha Thavisin.

Thailand is so fortunate to have great leaders with inspired visions of the future. A financial boom is coming.

Her political career so far had been on border of failure :

Leading the ticket of PT in the Election ended only Second.  .

The party by-passes her in PM nomination.

Had not got into cabinet Ministerial positions among about 30.

In 2011,  her auntie campaign had gone well and successful.

What had gone wrong in 2023 ?

Thailand had moved on and no longer eager for Shinawatra brand.

Her father kept talking about coming back while She appeared destined for PM.  The Thai were uncomfortable about this scenario.

Perception of her that she he was NOT capable doing things without family influence

Continuing in the family's 'business', She has a good teacher there.

She gave birth just prior to the election.

She withdrew from active politics for a period.

Difficult to be canvass for votes with a baby's head dangling between your legs methinks.

PT are in government, they have the PM role and the choicest ministries, Thaksin is back in Thailand and soon to be a free man and Paetongtarn is about to be parachuted into the party leader position….,could you explain again how they’ve failed or lost?

Thaksin expects to be released in October. How convenient!

Maybe she looks up "welding goggles" on Lazada, as re-sparking can go wrong - they said ????
