In a dramatic operation, authorities in Thailand's Sisaket province, led by Governor Surachai Tumwong, joined forces with police to raid and dismantle a large-scale illegal cockfighting arena.

The underground gambling den, operating as a cockfighting ring, was a hotbed of illegal activity. Notably, it hosted large-scale cockfighting events that attracted hundreds of spectators, reported Daily News.

On September 15th, 2023, a joint task force consisting of the Provincial Administrative Organization (PAO) and local police, under the command of Governor Tumwong, descended upon the illegal cockfighting venue located in the Tam Bon Pier district of Nam Kliang.

As they closed in, pandemonium erupted. Gamblers, estimated to number in the hundreds, along with approximately 100 vehicles, scattered in an attempt to evade arrest.

Remarkably, the task force managed to apprehend 21 individuals and seized a substantial amount of evidence, including 2 male fighting cocks, 1 female fighting cock, a timing clock, a ring bell, and 420 Thai Baht in cash.

The operation was initiated following complaints received by Governor Somruai Keskul through the Provincial Ombudsman Center, alleging the clandestine operation of an illegal cockfighting arena in violation of the law.

Preliminary investigations are underway, and the suspects, along with all confiscated items, have been turned over to the Nam Kliang Police Station for further legal proceedings.

And they caught 21?

No road blocks then?

420 baht? There should have been more cash lying around than that.

This is so ridicules cock fighting in Thailand is legal, 'but has to be a registered ring??????' of course there is gambling otherwise why would they spend a lot of money on their cocks, food, and equipment, and bother with the whole discusting thing. Some cocks are worth millions.

you said the same thing 3 times so I'll answer it.

420 baht was seized because they only bet very small amounts like 2 baht and 5 baht.     Lol

Mine's priceless...

Arranging and hosting cock fight events is a business reserved for the police!!

It's just being all inclusive. :giggle:

Maybe they have rainbow feathers.

and DM boots on,   with spurs. :cheesy:

Nice to see the police earning their wages for a change, now how about them getting out on the roads and doing a blitz on all these dangerous drivers and motorbike riders who are contributing to Thailand's dreadful road statistics?

Not the ones I've been too.

My brother in law often returns with thousands.

It's big business. Last time I went was in Khampengphet. Lots of shiny pickups with registration plates showing many had traveled a fair distance.

This one didn't get raided. Local police had been informed and paid to stay away.
