Is Phat Kaphrao worth a try?

Featured Replies

If well made, with the egg, in decent portions and all costing less then 100 THB, definately. If No, not worth.

  • It's a common dish all around Thailand, if you order some, let them know the spicey level you prefer, also you can opt for a fried egg on top. Pad krapow, kai dow.

    Definitely not.

  • Absolutely. Ask any Thai if any of their deceased relatives ever ate Phat Graprao.   The answers will shock you !! Eat it and one day you will die like them.

Vendor dependent, like all food.  Tasty stuff from the right vendor.

Absolutely. I eat it five times a week

That pic is some weak pad krapow. Sure

If you don't like it you simply don't like Thai food

Have to laugh at the comments about cooking oils, sanitation. Just say it... I hate Thai food,  it's too spicy and I have a weak stomach.

Move to a foreign country. Hate the food 🤣🤣

It shouldn't  cost more (or much more) than 50 baht from a soi vendor so get stuck in and give it a go. Pay the extra for a fried egg.  And tell them not very  spicey.

It's 60 on the streets BKK now

60 70 in food courts

Not sure about first discoveries, but it is one menu item, most vendors don't screw up.   Just need to know how to order your spiciness level.   Better vendors won't use ground meat 👍

I depends what you ask for. There are 2 different dishes.

"Pad grapow moo sab" or "Pad grapow moo chin", or even "Pad grapow moo grorb",  if you are eating pork.

But you don't eat all that fat right?  I used to see that and go wait a sec, cut, cut, all that clear white is outta here.

I pulled that snap off their webpage.   When ordering, I always ask 'how's the pork belly today', and ask for a meatier pork belly.   Usually works fine.

If too much, then I'll eat around it, but rarely need to.  Use to make at home all the time, but local Makro stopped selling with skin on ... 😭

Never seen the wife order anything but, when we eat out???

Pat bie Kraphao, if you want to be precise, the 'bie' is the krapho leaves

and yes, it's tasty and easy to make at home at least you know what goes in it.
