A taxi driver in Bangkok returned a stack of banknotes totaling 52,000 Baht to a female Chinese tourist. The latter accidentally left the money in the back seat of the honest driver’s car.

On Tuesday, September 19th, Mr. Montree Sae Tang returned the cash to the woman, identified only as Ms. Yang, at the FM 91 traffic radio station.

On Sunday, Montree said he picked up the woman in the Prachachart Bamphen area and drove her to a hotel on Soi Sukhumvit 22. Later, he was hailed by another passenger who informed him that there were Thai banknotes scattered across the back seat of his taxi. There were no other documents.

Ms Yang was even more surprised as she only left 40,000bt on the back seat ????

Amazing that Thais don't contact the Police first init, I can't imagine why. :coffee1:

And what was the tip/reward for honest taxi driver..

Ah wait I've just noticed the nationality...

Yeah, of course he did:cheesy: Some small minded people would think the news comes out of the TOT office.

Last night around 7pm , I agreed with a tuk tuk driver a price of 200 Baht to take me from the bus station in Savannakhet to the casino at Savan Resort and back.

When the trip was done , I paid the driver mistakenly 2,000 Baht (it was unlit spot and I could not differentiate the bank notes).

When I got back to the hotel I noticed my error and went immediately back to the tuk tuk stand.

Of course the f~Cker was no longer there and his colleagues miraculously , momentarily forgot how to speak English , they seemed quite proficient earlier when trying to acquire a fare from me.

My fault completely , but all this b~llsh~T about honest taxi drivers , I never seem to come across one..

On the bright side I did come out on top at the casino , but the tuk tuk incident still rankles none the less..

She said Thank You at least I Hope..

Ah, here is the counter to the one refusing to use the meter!

Lots of the usual cabbie bashing on here today. I've never had a problem in Bangkok or wherever I've lived in LOS. That maybe because I was a taxi driver in UK a lifetime ago and know from experience that many customers are rude and ignorant so I always treat the driver with the respect they deserve. Yes, I've had drivers refuse to use the meter. No problem, no hissy fit, no tok tik. Just walked away and got the next one.
