Expertise for residential AC in Pattaya/Sattahip area

Featured Replies

For our bedroom, I am looking for a new inverter AC (9000 BTU) which is as silent as possible, can operate without draft (no airflow downwards) and has the best possible air filter for smoggie February/March. I have narrowed down to Mitsubishi and Daikin, but there are too many models with similar specs to choose from. Is there any company/anyone in the Pattaya/Sattahip area which can provide reliable professional advice and expertise (English not mandatory)? Quality is more important than low price.

Just bought a TCL for 6900 baht 11,000 but from Lazada works perfectly the outside unit is the smallest I have seen for 11,000 but.  I have purchased 7 air conditionings.  The Samsung's were the worst either gekos blowing the circuit board or only lasting for 6 years. Daikin is also good for 9000 but  but at the price 6900 baht and getting 11,000 but. Anything less isn't worth buying.

The air comes from your room not from outside. So no such thing for smog.  They are all the same made in the sane factories.  My installer also now has switch over to TCL. Be sure to have them cleaned every 4 months they can collect the dust from your room

Gree also I am very happy with 22,000 btu I keep it set at 28c and still makes 50 sqm space 25c

I wanted a quiet AC also.  After spending a lot of time researching and going to different shops ended up buying the Mitsubishi GT series.

For the price, efficiency, quiet, looks,  parts availability and many techs being familiar with repairing Mitsubishi I believe I made the correct choice.

This series does Not have the ability to control it via a phone app, or the motion sensor.

Many people have different ideas of quiet.  The new AC is so quiet that I can now hear many new noises I never heard before.

I would Not trust the advice of anyone in the store.  They have only basic knowledge of specs, and will probably sell you the brand paying the most commission that month.

On the subject of geckos blowing the circuit board this is what happened to my KT series Mitsubishi, only about 3 years  old and little used. The guys were unable to fix it so the missus bought the GT series Mitsubishi (25k for 12,000btu) which is about their top model.
So I now have a relatively new broken one sitting in the garage. Does anyone know of any specialists (Korat area) who might be able to repair it? Mitsubishi themselves ?

I have a Samsung it has many options; 2-step, fast, comfort, quiet, and d'light cool.  Auto and fan only. And of course the vanes -) are adjustable like most makes. you can fit extra filters PM 2.5 to any A/C indoor unit.

I've installed 6 hisense and no probs. Curious about the super cheap tcl. Look ok . Think Ill try one for fun.

Thanks for all replies. I will probably go for Daikin KZ Series and may choose higher BTU than calculated (current  "deleted" Samsung AC is increasing fan speed in silent mode from time to time to not so silent mode in order to maintain temperature). Purchase from a shop in Sattahip which has serviced our existing 5 AC..

I have 7 Daikin a/c's at my house and 3 at my condo. I have nothing to complain about my a/c's, neither does my friend who has Samsung a/c's.

Daikin prices are getting ridiculous. I just got a quote for a 12,000BTU Daikin "Super Smart", not even the top model for my guest bedroom. 27600B. NO way. I am going to try TCL or Samsung including four more that I need for my new house in Rayong.

I think you will be happy with the Daikin.  I bought the Mitsubishi because the price for Daikin was higher and the one I desired was marginally less efficient.  Understand that the quietest fan speed may not provide enough air for your needs.

Glad it wasn't only me who thought that, way expensive for a slightly  unit.... I thought the 10 year old one needed to be replaced...but fortunately got the old one repaired.. had to use ARC as my usual guy could not get the parts. It's predecessor, a Samsung, didn't last long at all, but it was quiet.
