THE Food and Drug Administration alerted parents about the proliferation of contraband roll-on liquid candy while warning those importing and selling them that they face a 30,000 baht fine, Matichon newspaper said Saturday (Sep. 23).

Dr. Lertchai Lertwut, deputy secretary-general of the Food and Drug Administration, said this roll-on liquid snack is brightly coloured and has exotic flavours while packaged in various different ways to attract children’s attention.

The new variety of candy is mostly sold near schools or through online channels but as it is a smuggled product sales are not permitted. It is very noticeable that there is no Thai-language in the labelling nor is an FDA number present.

Aside from circumventing custom regs., not inherently dangerous; just doesn't comply with the law regarding  listing ingredients, etc.; basically, no-one knows what's in it.

Wouldn't take a rocket scientist to find out. I recon even an a LERT doctor could.:giggle:
