Lotus’s go pet-friendly shopping paw-tnership in 100 stores in Thailand

Popular supermarket chain Lotus’s announced the trial of a pet-friendly mall model allowing customers to shop alongside their beloved pets in 100 stores across the country.

 

The global trend of pet humanisation is growing, driven by pet owners who view their furry companions as family members or see themselves as their pets’ parents. These devoted pet parents spare no effort, both emotionally and financially, to ensure their pets’ well-being, akin to the care they provide to their offspring.

 

In response to this trend, Lotus’s has introduced pet-friendly brunches to welcome pets and their parents to shop together in the supermarket, creating a smart community that matches customers’ lifestyles.

 

To bring pets into the supermarket, pet parents must meet four conditions, including:

Pets must be safely contained within a bag or a trolley.
Pet parents are responsible for providing an appropriate bag or cart for their furry companions.
Pets must not walk around inside Lotus’s.
Pets are not allowed in restaurants without a pet welcome restaurant sign.

Doesn't seem so unreasonable to me, as long as they're not free to wander and pee up and down the aisles.

 

In my hometown, people can bring their support animals into stores.  Stores aren't allowed to challenge whether that's actually a trained support animal, or if the person is even entitled to a support animal (by some medical criteria), without fear of a lawsuit.  There's some pretty mangy "support animals" traipsing in the stores, with no way they'd fit in a trolley.

My Lotus has the chicken and other meat uncovered, laying out where you pick it up with tongs to put in a plastic bag. I'm not going to buy something that may have been licked, bit, chewed, or slobbered on by some stinky hound.

Extremely bad idea.

Pets simply do not belong in shops/malls etc.

My pooch stays at home during shopping trips and I have no desire to change that.

the question would be , Are the  pets fully vaccinated ? And how will you control pets with behavioral problems with people and other pets.

I've seen cats pop out from underneath the shelves in several supermarkets. At least these animals will be restrained.

This is nothing more than big corporations trying to increase their ESG scores so that the big stock market hounds and hedge funds will promote their brand in the marketplace. If their scores plummet, then so does their stock value. It's all part of the New World Order's plan to control the populace and destroy the world's economies so they can enter into their Great Reset! We have got to start pushing back against this nonsense. Just wait until a customer gets too close to a shopping buggy with a dog in it, and the dog takes a chunk out of their body. It's highly probable! It's happened to me before.

The information on their website says dogs won't be able to go in the supermarket zone, so it sounds like they can only be in the mall part of the building, not around the food.

It will be interesting to see how this works, I can take the mutt to the shop but I can't actually shop coz he's not allowed inside.

This is how most of the pet-friendly malls operate. You can take them into the building (some say they have to be in a stroller/bag, some let say they can walk on leash.) Once you are inside, it's up to the individual stores whether they can go in. We go to K-village quite often, as it has a small dog park as well. You can take a dog into the mall, but not into most of the shops. The restaurants with outdoor seating are all fine with you having a dog there. (I'm not sure if they would let you go inside a restaurant, I've never asked.)

According to the original post, they have to be in a bag or stroller, so they can't walk around anywhere.
