Social Development ministry called for regulating temples following abduction of a boy

The Mirror Foundation has proposed that the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security step in to regulate temples providing shelter to children, mostly ethnic children, who are either orphans or whose parents cannot afford to look after them, following the kidnapping of a 14-year-old boy from a temple in Sing Buri province.

New international airport costing ฿80 billion to be built in Phang-nga province which is home to James Bond Island where key scenes from the 1974 movie The Man with the Golden Gun starring Roger Moore were filmed making it easier for tourists to travel there and transit to nearby provinces such as Phuket and Krabi which have all received infrastructure boosts.

Thailand’s finance ministry drops plan for financial transaction tax

Paopoom Rojanasakul, secretary to the finance minister, announced a reversal from the Finance Ministry’s initial plan to impose a financial transaction tax. This comes after Sirikanya Tansakul of the Move Forward Party (MFP) claimed the ministry’s mid-term fiscal blueprint for 2024 projected revenue of 14 billion baht from the proposed tax.
