I love the way that Thais promote their illegal activities on social media and then are surprised when the BIB show up. Pimping, street races, sex toys....

The real reason has nothing to do with morality or the ethics of laws.

The real reason is that this people were threatening the gang that already imports these items for sale in NANA, MBK, and JJ Market.

Just take the soap-shaped penises for example, and see how many stores sell them openly.

I'm not sure why you quoted me, as your response has nothing to do with what I wrote.
To respond anyway, how are you aware of the gang that you claim import the goods? And no stores sell soap-shaped penises openly as they are probably illegal.

Why are sex toys illegal?

From "The fight to legalise sex toys in Thailand"

April 5, 2019

https://www.dazedigital.com/politics

  • the Thai Culture Minister recently claimed: “sex toys are offensive and against the views of Thailand
  • Thai Criminal Code Section 287, to sell, promote or even own any “obscene objects” in the kingdom is punishable with up to three years in prison....it is also immoral to speak about sexual pleasure
  • An impact on society - lack of sex education in schools: a UNICEF report on sexuality in Thailand found in 2017, “a majority of students were unable to correctly answer questions about the menstrual cycle, while many female students mentioned emergency contra- ceptive pills as their main method of contraception and many boys indicated an unwillingness to use condoms.”

Siriluck Chiengwong, Head of the Office of UNFPA Thailand explains that sex education in Thailand is not comprehensive enough, as it only focuses on teaching the human body parts and how pregnancy occurs.

"Teen pregnancy in Thailand decreasing, but the issue remains complicated"

https://www.thaipbsworld.com

  • “It doesn’t teach about what leads to a sexual relationship or even when you should start protecting yourself,” she said, while adding that the norms in Thai culture make teachers hesitant to reveal all the details.
  • When sex education is not comprehensive enough, it also leads to a lack of understanding among teenagers, particularly on the consequences of being pregnant at a young age."

I take it you do not go to JJ market or MBK.  Soap-shaped penises are sold openly in both locations I have seen them sold in others.

As to the gang who do you think all the sellers along NANA work for?  Do you really think they import their stuff.

There has to be one group that is responsible for all these little stalls.

"Selling, offering or lending obscene products to people." 5 years jail.  So those toys I brought as gifts could have slammed me for 5 years?

@2baht I refuse to answer you on the grounds that my response could incriminate me

Wrong wrong wrong. Thai men are not well known for being good at it. I believe it makes them feel inadequate seeing and watching in action something they wish they could do well but can’t mostly due to size and stamina. Don’t like losing face so ban them.

Not just Thai men.. Whatever your opinion of your sexual prowess, these units will get the ladies to the goal more reliably and often quicker.

Opinion based on years of observation...

Years ago, when we first came to Thailand, there was a similar report in one of the print newspapers.

Front page photo of the smallest, cutest, little female customs officer holding (very gingerly IIRC) the biggest inflatable dong I'd ever seen! :whistling:
