snoop1130
The Move Forward Party has been on the defensive ever since its shock election victory in May. The party has taken what many observers describe as “political missteps” that may have cost it the prime minister’s seat and a chance to lead the new coalition government. Instead, it now sits on the other side of the House as the largest opposition party. Pita Limjaroenrat, who led Move Forward to electoral victory as its only PM candidate, failed to secure majority support in Parliament for the top job. The PM’s seat fell instead to Move Forward’s former ally, Pheu Thai, which displayed ruthless efficiency in the political games that followed the election. Popular Post Andycoops
The tragedy is the millions of lost votes cast by citizens that haven't been honoured because of the corrupt unelected senate and the usual cronies that are currently screwing the country... 8 6
Popular Post ikke1959
Pita could form a government. Why are they constantly saying he failed? It were the elites and the senators that prevented that Pita was elected as PM. Besides that persons behind the screen, don't want a civil government. And Phew Thai was and is corrupt as we can see go Thaksin is treated. 5
chickenslegs
From the linked article ... Quote He [Olarn Thinbangtieo, a lecturer at Burapha University] also sees a strong chance of Move Forward being dissolved by court order amid allegations that its reform plans constitute an attempt to overthrow constitutional monarchy. I think this is inevitable, and the only way that the establishment (including the Pheu Thai) can prevent MF from gaining power.

No mention of the senators who overthrew the votes of millions of the voting populace and hence ..."failed to secure majority support in Parliament for the top job." and not just this but was denied the formation of government. Also fails to mention that PTP jumped into bed with the enemy and the enemy of their support base. 4 3
Popular Post Toolong
'Mis-steps' by MF? Not so. At all. (Though I concede much could have been 'lost in translation'.) Mis-steps occur when you make choices and they turn out to be the wrong ones. MF had no choices.....no options....to do anything other than what they did. Forced by crafty design to back themselves into a hopeless corner. The title of this Thai PBS piece refers to potential 'tragedy' for MF. The tragedy is for Thailand, plain and simple. (And I say that with great sorrow.) 6 2
rwill
MF was never going to get the PM seat. If they believed they were they were very naive. They showed great weakness when they gave up the House speakership. That was the most they could have expected to achieve at this point.
klauskunkel
Quote Experts see three flaws that could end in tragedy for Move Forward "Experts" are working hard to change the narrative on Thailand's government election. Question is not if "Experts" are being bankrolled, question is are "Experts" being bankrolled by tax payer money, from a hospital bed, or from corporate funds...

spidermike007
If Pita was not disqualified for the silly thing they found, it would have been something else. This was about money grubbing lowlifes, trying to use their illegitimate positions, to deny the will of the people, steal an election, move the nation backwards, and deny any kind of change or reform. This was a toxic power grab. The senators deserve a lifetime of pain and suffering. One can only hope the people will be bold enough to inflict that upon them.
