My gf brought her 10-year-old relative to Bangkok because he wanted to visit her and the city.

We have no children and are not used to children in Bangkok.

What are good places to go?

Free entertainment is fine, but I am also willing to pay some entrance fees.

We had already ice-cream in Terminal 21.

+1, don't bother with the drive-through bit, just Marine World.

GF and himself get in at reduced rates (so do you if you have a pink ID).

Take the kid to a play park at a shopping center, kids love those places. A swimming pool, kids love the water.

There are a couple of urban water-parks too, nothing extreme but good use of half a day.

I only know the water park from The Mall Bangkae from years ago. I don't know if that still exist.

Is there something similar in the middle of the city not too far away from lower Sukhumvit.

I've never needed it but I'm 99.8% sure there will be taxis and I'm also sure there are buses back into town. Google is going to be your friend.

Also, don't poo-poo Soi Cowboy.

Loads of eating on soi 23, "oh dear, we have to walk down soi Cowboy" :whistling:

He'll love the bright lights and the girls will adore him (obviously don't go inside), have a beer outside and watch the fat farangs with their rentals ????

Sorry, I've had to remove a post with a link to the Bangkok Post who don't allow us to link to their content.

You may want to PM our OP with the info.

I know u said country boy, but does he ever get a chance to go fishing where he lives?  Some pretty large fish here, Beung Maruay - think it was like 100 baht entrance 100 baht rod rent, maybe 50 baht for bait.

Ride the canal boats.

Jump on and off, visiting sights along the canals.

Is the Batcat museum/toystore at LamSali (Bangkapi Mall) still open?

On the canal boats you can have a strong smell of <deleted>e and you can get sprayed a bit with the water. Maybe it was that particular canal. Nice quick way to get around though.
