Filing a first time TM30 when you own and live in a condo -- what documents are needed exactly?

The title explains it.

I kindly seek advice, the more specific the better.

I assume you need to do this in person to get a receipt to put in your passport.

I have blue books, not yellow books.

I use plural as technically I own two condos which are adjacent and joined.

So would I need to do TWO TM30's for such a situation or does immigration recognize adjacent condos are one residence?

Copy of Passport

Copy of a household registration book (ทะเบียนบ้าน) or title deed (โฉนด)

Copy of sale contract

 

Immigration will not let you do more than one TM30 at the same time even if you rent/own and stay at multiple condos/residences at the same time. Just one is enough.

The requirements can vary from immigration office to office. Best to mention the office you will be dealing with in person, or enquire direct to them.

Its easy to do it all on line nowadays, via website or app, and they list the required documents.

Can be done online, register (upload 2 docs: passport + colored book), then file.

Not sure where you needed those docs, but Jomtien requires the following:

 

TM30 Form

Copy of passport page

Copy of visa (if applicable)

Copy of entry stamp

Copy of Condo Chanote (3 pages)

 

They are not interested in blue book as it doesn't have your name in it.  As for 2 Condo, just pick one of the condo to be place of stay and forget about the other

Yellow books are for Thais but possibly for foreigners to get with a lot of hassle. So I have blue.

 

A very long time!

I have never needed a TM30.

Have never been asked for one.

 

Now apparently there is a rule change at Jomtien for any service like extension.

 

My understanding us that there will be a fine for late filing  I think it is 1600 baht.

Yeah, I assumed you were in Pattaya or thereabouts, so would be advised to file a new TM30, assuming the one you might have now was filed BEFORE your most recent return from outside of Thailand.

 

Registering on the new site was quite easy, as was making a new filing there.

I would register and use the online system. No fine for a late filing AFAIK.

 

But going in person may be worth any potential fine, just to be on the safe side?

I have NEVER filed a TM30!

But can you get a receipt from that as required?

How long does it take to process online?

I don’t mind paying a fine.

Just need this properly sorted thanks to the new rule change.

Immigration will not renew my Retirement Extension without a TM30 attached to my passport, and they look for it when I do my 90 days.

Here's a possible issue.

 

I do my address reports and put down my address showing both condo unit numbers with a hyphen.

 

For example 545-6.

 

But as advised here I would only file the Tm30 for the primary unit in the example 545.

 

I see the TM30 form requires address. Obviously.

 

Should I put only the one primary unit number or put both using a hyphen as in my address reports?

 

If I only put one number it will not match the address reports exactly!

 

Or

 

Perhaps I should put the hyphenated number on the TM30 form and give copies of both chanotes?!?

they have no way of knowing when you actually moved in, say, if you tell them you moved in on the 30th you are not 'late'

Why not do the TM30 for 545 and then do next 90 day report also as 545. I doubt you can give 2 separate chanotes for a TM30

 

Jomtien very easy for TM30 now by the way. The 2 new buildings in front has stopped any lengthy queue and a TM30 can take less than 10 minutes on a good day

Have you NEVER stayed in an hotel, as they are obliged to submit a TM30 for every foreign guest. Immigration can then keep a track on you.

That sounds like a reasonably good suggestion but I'm not confident that irs a good idea to change what I've been putting on my address reports.

I wonder where Immigration think you were between your last hotel or residence, and now.

As I said previously, IO looks at my TM30, filed years ago by my Mrs, every 90 days. I have left and re-entered Thailand many times with no question, as long as I go back to my home.

In my experience they don't even match chanote copy to the TM30 form. I'm sure my address is different on every TM30 I do as I can never remember what is district and sub-district and where or if to put Moo 10, so different to chanote. They never give the application more than a quick glance.

 

As your situation is pretty unique with 2 condo joined, maybe take both chanotes and ask them what to submit? I found the initial desk staff very helpful since the new buildings opened
