Popular Post webfact Posted October 17, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 17, 2023 The completion of a multi-purpose mobile application, or “super app”, is on track for early next year, coinciding with the launch of the 10,000-baht digital wallet initiative, as announced by Deputy Finance Minister Julapun Amornvivat. The mobile app is designed as a comprehensive solution, with developers assuring its readiness for the digital wallet scheme’s rollout, expected between February and March next year. Not all app functionalities will be operational immediately but will be activated as required. Certain features will be accessible for the scheduled registration next month. Deputy Finance Minister Julapun stated that vendors outside the formal tax network cannot convert their digital wallet funds into cash. However, they can use their balance for purchases from other vendors within the tax system. by Mitch Connor Photo courtesy of Julapun Amornvivat (Facebook) Full story: The Thaiger 2023-10-17 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. There would be quite a percentage of the eligible population in similar situations; we spent a year in Sa Kaeo it was 26km to 'civilisation' at Khao Chakan if you rate a 7-11 and mini-Lotus as qualifying, 45km to Sa Kaeo town. Nearer our home there were just little family stores, hardware and farm supplies. Where we are now, Chanthaburi province in a town of 7,000 and 15km to C city, not a whole lot of big spending options other than Lotus supermarket and four 7-11s. We'll 'buy' the two daughters 10k and spend on household expenses they can shop themselves out at in the city with cash. I'll need to negotiate an exchange rate!

That's a good idea as we too have two teenagers who qualify. But to spend Bht 30000 in our local little shop in 6 months is nigh on impossible as she only sells Chang & Singha & Sang Som. And of course, it must be a shop with digital facilities. 1 1

Popular Post proton Posted October 17, 2023 Popular Post Posted October 17, 2023 Took them years to get the 90 day reporting app to work, on and off. There will be enormous problems with this, people not being able to register for various reasons, not getting the handout/bribe, not being able to spend it where they want, cashing it in for a proportion of it from bent vendors etc, amusing times ahead. 3 1

Also, you posted this on September 15th 2018 (a long time ago I know) "Songthaews should starts doing QR Code Payments - Print the QR barcodes all inside the songthaew, would make life alot easier for passengers and the drive, and less dangerous for passengers who have to stand at the side of the vechicle to pay Also Having 2 baht, or even worse 12 (5+5+5+1+1) baht in change every time is so annoying. " You really should make your mind up if you want to go digital or not. 1 1 1 1 3

Have you been to London recently? Its actually rare maybe 1 out of 10 restaurants that will accept cash......I couldnt believe it when I went back home The same will happen here within the next few years Quote "True, but gonna be centuries before the rural mom and pop stores and the street vendors only or even accept digital payments." This is why they are doing this handout to try and get mom and pop stores onto digital payments its all VERY sinister indeed 3 3

As for at home in UK if you want to take a few K out of your account in cash they insist on knowing what it's for and why you need it. 1 1
