It's a properly sorted EV Sports Car to rival the new Porsche Boxter EV, massive horsepower and a 3.2 second dash to 100kmhr.  Formula 1 Engineer set up the suspension too.

 

The reviews are all stunning.  The only downside is the battery chemistry, being NMC it's not as suited to Thailand's heat as LFP and will last half as long, but still the life of the car.

 

The PEA Grid is able to cope adequately.

 

EV's catch fire 10x less often than ICE cars.

 

They keep their value extremely well.

 

I think that is most of the usual nonsense dealt with in advance.

No when MG were British they were a by-word for low quality crap, same as anything from British Leyland. I had a 1968 MGB for about 25 years in the US, 144,000 original miles, great fun to drive in the summer with the top down, but what an awfully hard drive and foul suspension. You were totally exhausted after driving it for 10 minutes around the post-winter, pot-holed US roads but nice on decent roads.

I must say new MG styling is about as good as it gets. I won't buy one despite their cheap sticker prices because, like the Japanese cars of old (70s and early 80s), these Chinese cars might not be a quality  build.

I believe Chinese will improve their quality over the next decade or so to match the quality of Japanese made cars, and a step up from EU or US cars. Maybe I'll try one then, just for fun. But Thailand isn't really a very nice place to drive a roadster is it? Too hot, too stinky, too much traffic.

I had a 1988 Jag XJS 12 cylinder in the US. Fabulous engine, very poor electronics, but the power in that engine had to be driven to be felt.....enormous and the styling was beautiful. A real head turner.

I have had lots of Jags, one of which was the XJS V12, I had lots of XJ6's, XJ12's in saloon & coupe form and a Daimler Double Six Van den Plas.  In my early 20's I used to deal in them.

 

The 12 cylinder engine has a problem with oil pressure.  You have to check the pressure when the engine is hot, if it's low it's a very expensive engine rebuild.

 

I think they were superb cars and I loved driving them, healthy margin in dealing in them too.

 

I would love another with an EV conversion.

Nice toy to have, IF, wanting to add another car to one's collection.  Or if just wanting to be a bit sporty & stylish when going from point A - B.

 

Impractical for myself, as I'd never use the convertible aspect of it here/TH.  

 

Pretty damn awesome though ... with added plus of being yet another fine product from CH, instead of crap from the UK, thankfully 😁
