On November 5, 2023, at 15:30, a violent clash involving foreigners erupted in front of Sothon Nimit Temple during the Kathin religious festival in Samut Prakan province. Police and emergency volunteers rushed to the chaotic scene where locals and foreigners had gathered in large numbers to celebrate.

In the temple's parking lot, the situation was tense with people shouting and being separated by the police. One individual was injured by glass bottle shards and experienced pain in his right foot and arm, opting out of hospital care despite the injuries, reported Siam Rath.

The vicinity was strewn with broken glass and explosive remnants, including what appeared to be homemade ping-pong bombs, leaving two more locals with minor injuries.

Amid the festivities, a Thai man trying to defuse the fight was hit by a bottle, causing his arm to go numb. A foreign participant recounted dodging thrown objects, including bottles, rocks, wood, and explosives. Subsequently, injured parties sought the assailants who had thrown the projectiles.

Close to the temple, two villagers were slightly injured by a black explosive while sitting outside their homes. Authorities are now gathering more information from the injured and scrutinizing CCTV to apprehend and legally charge the involved foreign and local individuals.

"Would be no trouble if not for those pesky foreigners coming armed looking to disrupt the tranquility of a peaceful gathering by 'Jai yen, yen' Thais", commented Iamoff Maheed a local Thai spokeperson wearing an ankle bracelet

No idea what he is pointing at in the last picture but it's still a quality bit of pointing....

I think that's the precise point of the incident he's pointing at, I'd say he's fairly accurate, I like his commitment! Determination written in his face!
