Thai-Italian man arrested for stealing petrol in Bangkok

Police arrested a half-Thai, half-Italian man for stealing 2,600 baht worth of fuel from a petrol station in the Lat Phrao district of Bangkok.

 

The Thai-Italian suspect, 29 year old Tanrak Corsaro, stole fuel from a petrol station on Soi Lat Phrao 134 in Bangkok on October 5. Tanrak was seen on CCTV driving his white Mercedes-Benz C 350 into the petrol station on that October evening.

 

When the attendant finished pumping petrol and returned the pump to its docking point, Tanrak simply drove off without paying. The petrol station then reported the theft to Chok Chai Police Station.

 

Officers conducted a search for Tanrak and apprehended him in a rented room in Bangkok’s Bueang Kum district, where he admitted to the theft. The investigating officers revealed that Tanrak had an extensive criminal record and had made another attempt at theft.

2600b of fuel? Wow, that car can hold a lot.  Put 1000b in my car and it's full.

According to Google, a Mercedes-Benz C0130 can hold 50L,  so even if the tank was completely empty and it was refueled with the most expensive (Shell Super @48b/l, that's still only about 2400b.

It does seem to be a very popular way of life I was up in issaan and next to basically shacks were Ford rangers Toyota fortuner ect even prawits financial disclosure said house value 3.6 million but 3 cars total 10.8 million maybe they sleep in there cars?

For the anal-retentive amongst you, the incident reportedly took place in October when fuel prices were 15% higher.

It was his sick mothers fault. He could get 5yrs for stealing the petrol, he should get 5yrs just for a gun IMO. Another fail by the RTP for not issuing an arrest  warrant before. Another wanna be 'Hi-So" with no money but has a gun.

Actually its a Mercedes-Benz C 350 that hold 66 litter of fuel, and at about B. 45 a litter for Gasohol 95 Premium, it will cost around the B. 2,600...
