December 7, 20232 yr Popular Post Visited Jomtien immigration yesterday 06 Dec, in the afternoon--yes, I know, shouldn't have gone then. Anyway, it was a madhouse inside the first office, on the street in front, and the parking lot a few yards down the street; have never seen it this busy. Went back this morning and showed up at 0730 hrs, was # 10 in the queue. By 0745 the queue was out into the street. I would say there were approx 80-100 people waiting when I left. Just giving people on this forum an idea of what the numbers are like at certain times. Another thing; every time I've been there, there are numerous people that don't have the corrrect documents/copies/photos; approx 4-5 people out of the first ten in line in front of me. Anyway, I've always thought if they had large signs with lists of docs needed up outside for the various visas/extensions this would make it easier for the farangs AND the Thai workers there. Plus a sign before you go in the first office stating something like, "Did you check the list of docs needed BEFORE coming in here?" I know they don't care about the farangs but I see how the Thai workers get so frustrated/pissed off by people not knowing what they need. Today the third guy in line got this from the front desk, "You know you need this! You were here yesterday, I remember you! Go away and get these documents and get back in line!" It wasn't a very good start to the Thai worker's day--or the farang's. I know years ago they used to have a older farang gentleman that worked there answering questions; that seems like a good idea also, just somebody that answers question, nothing else. I know it's the farang's responsibilty to know what docs are needed but we know how humans are, basically lazy. My wife told me the only reason people work there is for the benefits after retirement. I thought to myself, "Must be very very good benefits to be putting up with this s**t all day long for twenty years or so!"

They are well rewarded with all the kick backs from agents and others....a very lucrative job if your lucky enough to work there...that is why they are "putting up with this s**t all day"
December 7, 20232 yr Popular Post They have created this mess. Is there other country with similar abuse toward to people who just want to have a good time and bringing billions of $$$$$ for benefit to Thais? North Korea, maybe?
December 8, 20232 yr It may be because the Jomtien immigration asks for more, or different, documents than most other immigration centers. They won’t even accept some of the documents on the Thailand official immigration website as they have their own documents that they want.

What chance has any farang got when different Thai immigration offices, and even individual officers often have their own interpretation of the rules?
December 8, 20232 yr Popular Post Never had an issue in the 10 years I have visited Jomtien immigration. Just have everything prepared, go at the right time, dress appropriately for a Government office and be polite. of course you lot here like complaining…blah blah blah whinge whinge 😎

Exactly, and they probably wonder "why stupid farangs don't know what papers to bring!"

I've seen so many "stupid farangs" turn up at the desk with just their passport and ask for a 30 day extension. How hard is it to research something first before going to immigration to apply

If your customers are continuously telling you that it is difficult to use your services, whether you agree with them or not, you're doing something wrong.

How hard is it to research something first before going to immigration to apply Why should you need anything more than a passport for a 30-day extension? Also where are the actual requirements published? Chonburi Immigration website is a dog's breakfast and the main Immigration website ain't much better.
