Arrest on Rama 2: Police Detain Woman Driving Luxury Car

In a significant operation along Rama 2 Road, highway police apprehended an attractive woman behind the wheel of a Porsche. The vehicle, adorned with a fake license plate bearing the number N 8899, was intercepted at the entrance of the Ratchaburi 2-kilometer 83+400 expressway. Authorities disclosed that the upscale car had been legitimately purchased from a renowned car center in the Rama 9 area.

 

On December 11th, Lt. Gen. Khongkrit Lertsukhon, the Commander of the Highway Police Bureau, issued an arrest order for Ms. Kachakorn (surname withheld), a 37-year-old individual facing charges of forgery and the use of counterfeit government documents, reported Daily News.

 

The suspect, navigating a navy-blue Porsche Cayenne with a red license plate labeled N 8899, allegedly registered in Bangkok, was apprehended on the roadside of Rama 2 at kilometer 83+400 in the Wang Manao sub-district, Pak Tho district, Ratchaburi province.

Following an extensive investigation, law enforcement discovered that Ms. Kachakorn, despite possessing importation documents, failed to furnish evidence of vehicle ownership. Additionally, it was uncovered that the car had not undergone registration with the Department of Land Transport. The license plate was identified as fake. The suspect has been taken into custody.

 

The case has now entered a heightened phase of examination under the jurisdiction of the Pak Tho police station. The confiscated evidence, which includes the counterfeit license plate and the high-end vehicle, has been formally submitted for legal proceedings.

To this day, I wonder how those shops on the streets of Bangkok Chinatown are allowed to create and sell license plates.  I'm assuming there's lots of other places to get plates made, in addition to official gub'memt plates.
