First an innoncent tourist was involved in a hit and run accident by a Thai and than refused urgent medical treatment in a nearby Thai hospital. What happened with this so-called LOS?

It is all rotten rust under the fake gold colour of Thailand's position about foreigners, be it tourists, long term expatriates or immigrants. Racism in its finest order and then they cry over the missing cash of the afore-mentioned, which is so desperately needed as they cannot get ends meet due to the totally stucked social structure, rampant corruption and a complete vacuum in the education sector. 

Thailand is heading for a very, very, very bleak future - to say the least all the while the ever-so-rich-non-Thais are packing and leaving in droves ....... what a pity about a really nice country with mostly really nice people :-(

That alone can explain why this kind of behavior can and will keep happen here. The financial penality for the hospital is meanless compared to the potential benefit to not be left with an huge unpaid bill.
As for the 2 year jail, they will always have a low ranked scape goat to take the blame.

 

Should fine every staff member and jail them to the MAX of 2yrs to all those involved in the refusal.

This is not about xenophobia IMO its about Money as usual here, if he had, had insurance on him, they would have done the most expensive treatment known to mankind. And maybe he would still be alive.

Should have gone to Petcharavej Hospital at the end of New Petchaburi Road connecting Pattanakarn Road.  It's 5.7 km according to Google map, and it's a straight road.  At 2 am in the morning, there is no traffic jam.

They're praising the Taiwanese embassy for investigating the reason that a Thai hospital refused emergency treatment for one of it's citizens, not to "pick them up and take them to the hospital".

Nightlife
Cheap living
Escape for their unlawful life, back home
