Feeling Good...

Featured Replies

There seems to be a bit of bad feeling in Bedlam at the mo, so I thought I'd ask for your experiences of something that makes youe feel good or happy but not something you have to do, or need to do - just a pleasure. I hope this proviso will prevent prurient postings!

Okay, here's mine. I have a classic car. It's a 1966 Volvo Amazon. Today I took it for a spin in the sunshine, just over 20 miles for nothing more than taking it for a spin. It made me happy. When I got home, I glanced back at the car and loved having it. Of course I don't need a classic car I just love having it.

What's yours?

ps This is not my actual car I couldn't find one of mine, new pc and all that!

receiving an email/letter/pm from someone unexpected usually gives me warm and fuzzy feelings.

on an other tack though.. there are many drugs, sexual acts, and other assorted things that, although not always very good for me, make me happy.

ermm... but I don't think that's what you mean.

When I go to visit my folks, and the house they rebuilt in the french alps... that place is gorgeous. Makes me happy.

Right now I'm partying with a bunch of Russian neighbours.

Can't understand a bloody word beyond "Nastarovya" but I feel good! :D :D :D:o

Trust kayo to introduce the first 'prurient' post! :D:o

Prurient

1. having, inclined to have, or characterized by lascivious or lustful thoughts, desires, etc.

2. causing lasciviousness or lust.

3. having a restless desire or longing.

Ermmm.. Yep :D

:o

Oh!

BTW, I obviously can't show you emails, drugs, or sexual acts, that I mentioned, but this is the place I was talking about:

When my little girl (both of them actually) hugs me and says 'good morning Daddy' that sets the smile on my face for the day.

The first coffee of the day is the best taste experience ever.

The wagging doggy tails when mummy goes to feed them is a joy to behold.

Getting pounced on by a ten week old puppy who is certain in his own mind that he can hurt you is something I will never tire of.

In the UK I used to hate mornings, it was so depressing ..... now, I love the mornings.

Cuddles from the kids

Wife apologizing for leaving for Europe on another business trip ( Oh the disapointment )

Too much to list, but the condensed version is sharing my love. Bringing someone to a place of happiness and watching the smile on their lips.

Anything that has anything to do with my wife and child. Music, a good book, a good video game, a nice whether (like a rainy lazy day) spring and fall, and the list goes on, but really, the little things are what really matter. :o

Sleeping.

Sunbeams.

Naps. Esp naps in sunbeams. Esp naps you know I shouldnt take but the sun beam is so ###### good and i feel all warm and canNOT resist for power of sunbeam too strong.

Waking up really hungry and thirsty and that first taste of food or drink that tastes way way much better than you can believe.

Then aiming to do something constructive so i dont get a downer for having spent time doing nothing but sleeping in a sunbeam. Better yet, if am very productive and achieve a lot, i feel very happy with myself.

I spoke with my dear friend Tanya in Santa Monica CA this morning for the first time since I moved to Thailand 1 yr ago.

It brought a smile to my face just to hear her voice, and chat for a bit.

Well, a picture can say a thousand words.

This pic was when i finally arrived after a long flight and my neice ran out to hug me. Had not seen her in nearly four years and she had grown so much. I couldnt believe it! I had been looking forward to seeing them for weeks, and the whole flight my stomach was in knots. That turned into a huge bear hug and I could have stayed in that position forever. Had such a mix of feeling happy and tearful and gosh, well, cant express it. Its a feeling i will never forget. My plan is to go see them again this Christmas, so after a 3 year gap, i think i will get another shock when i see how much she and her brother have grown!

Taoism: shit happens

Atheism: I don't believe this shit

My wife (better put that firs), I also just got into golf, so when I hit a ball and it goes straight and far brings a huge grin to my chops. Fun video games, and lazy afternoons on my huge L shaped sofa with soft velveteen like covers hmmm chocolate, playing with my niece and watching her do Bangkun impressions (Bangkun and James is hilarious too) :D

I love to play with dogs (clumsy puppies especially) but we don't really have enough time for a dog :o

There seems to be a bit of bad feeling in Bedlam at the mo,

Where. Have i missed something :o

For me yesterday was a good one that made me smile. I have a 50 mile journey to get home from work and it's been persitantly p1ssing down here for about 4 weeks now. It's makes you miserable as s1n.

However, last night was gorgeous and i got in my car, flicked the switch, the roof folded back, i put my shades on, turned the music up and the hour long journey went by in a flash. :D Even mowed the lawn when i got home. Happy days, i want to do it again tonight :D

Oh yeah, nearly forgot. Mrs BoJ had cooked me Pad Ka Prow as well. Does life get any better :D

Waking up to a cracking hummer from the missus. :D Had a blinding day at work today too!

So obviously ###### you miserable ######! :o

Are we talking about the same thing here, JD? I said a smile on someone else's lips, not your own. :D

trying to work out the relationship between the really young looking and the booze.

You help her smile and drink to celebrate? :o

Erm . . . something like that. Let's just say it can be a two way street? :o

Ah, well mutually helping each other out is great. Big smiles on both faces. I mean she could help you across the street and you could carry her schoolbag sorta thing. :o

I arrived at the Southern Bus Terminal last night and was standing there satisfying a nicotine withdrawal crisis when two ladies arrived with a baggage laden trolly they seemed to be unable to lift over the curb. Being the stupid farang I am I tosssed my ciggy in the gutter , grabbed hold of the trolly and said (with a smile) "c'mon girls we can do this". Now of course I don't know if it was me applying a bit of shoulder to the problem or them applying more effort to the problem but that trolly did make it over the curb so they could wheel it over to the bus. What pleased me was the look of almost wonder on the face of lady nearest me when she said thank you. - maybe she realised that not all farang are arseh*les.

Whoever you were ladies I hope you had a good trip !

I arrived at the Southern Bus Terminal last night and was standing there satisfying a nicotine withdrawal crisis when two ladies arrived with a baggage laden trolly they seemed to be unable to lift over the curb. Being the really really stupid farang I am I tosssed my ciggy in the gutter , grabbed hold of the trolly and said (with a grimace) "c'mon b1tches! we can do this you useless nymphs". Now of course I don't know if it was me or Bangkok's drainage system, but within moments and a shoulder full of trolley, out of the corner of my eye I saw a plume of smoke coming out of the gutter. Applying a bit of groin pressure to the lady standing next to my - under the guise of pucshing the trolley, of course - I assumed that it was only for lack of moisture in the drainage and hence disregarded the problem and them applying more effort to the problem which I only thought of in duisgust. But that trolly did make it over the curb so they could wheel it over to the bus. What pleased me was the look of almost wonder on the face of lady nearest me when she - and her friend AND the trolley, were blasted backwards off the curb, back down the hill, as the sewage pit exploded in massive conflagration - maybe she finally got it into her thick skull that all farang are arseh*les.

HaarrrUmph. I've had a - not exactly bad but - annoying day.
