Mia Schem was held hostage for 54 days in Gaza by Hamas terrorists.

She has recently opened up about her horrific experiences in captivity in two separate interviews with the Israeli media.

This is the message that she recently shared on her Instagram account:

"Thank you to everyone who took the time to hear my story. Thank you to all of you who wrote messages, interacted with me and sent love- you have given me a lot of strength.

It was hard for me to open up my wounds on camera, but I felt that this is my responsibility to the 129 hostages still in Gaza.

So that everyone knows what we are dealing with.

We cannot forget them. We can not give up on them. We have to bring them all home, now!"

  • @billd766   Way to go Bill.....you're just one step away from making it the hostages' own fault.   Hamas hijacked these people. You're trying to hijack this topic.

  • It must be hard for them.   Their OWN Israeli government has stopped food, water, fuel and medical supplies to EVERYONE in Gaza.   It is harder still for the 1.9 MILLION Palestinia

  • Too bad it wasn't your mother, sister, wife or daughter taken hostage, then your lecture on how being gang-raped by animals is easier than being one the Palestinians that started the war when they tor

Female returned hostage tells how she was held captive in a hospital upstairs room for 2 months. Her son was murdered, her husband also taken hostage but still being held somewhere in Gaza by Hamas

My Second Trip to Gaza Was as a Hostage. I Will Never Return.

On Oct. 7, masked Hamas gunmen burst into the bomb shelter inside my home and kidnapped me; my daughter, Keren; and my grandson, Ohad. My husband, Abraham, was knocked out trying to stop the screaming men from entering the safe room and was taken away separately from us. He is still in captivity, his condition unknown. Hamas also killed my son, Roy, as he tried to defend Nir Oz.
Later that day I was back in Khan Younis, 56 years after my trip to the beach.
Over the next 49 days, I spent most of my time locked in a small room on the second floor of a hospital. My jailer, who went by Mohammad, called himself a soldier of Hamas, but he didn’t look like a soldier. I was being guarded by a man in civilian clothes and held against my will in a civilian building.

The head of psychiatry at the Tel Aviv hospital caring for released hostages said they had undergone the worst abuse and trauma she had witnessed in her career.

Among the 14 former hostages treated at her canter, she said, were child hostages who had been drugged by their captors – including with ketamine – and were suffering from withdrawal, those who had subjected to or witnessed sexual abuse, a woman who had been kept in a tiny cage, and another who had a breakdown after being kept in complete darkness for days.

“I thought that I’d treated the most severe cases there were, but with these patients that came from captivity we couldn’t believe that degree of cruelty,” Eitan said. “Most of the hostages who came back went through very severe physical and mental abuse … We know that they have a long way ahead of them.”

Of the 14 hostages treated by Eitan’s team, nine are under 18 and two are under 10. Most need long-term treatment for trauma. Some have gone to other facilities around the country, and Eitan said six were still receiving “very intensive psychiatric and psychological care” at the Ichilov centre.

More evidence of hospitals used as Hamas hostage centers.

Another hostage reveals her experience to CNN of her and her 2 young daughters while held hostage in Gaza. After 16 days being held in an apartment with a local family she was transferred to a hospital in Khan Younis. There she met other hostages also being held.

Freed Israeli hostage says she endured ‘psychological warfare’ during 50 days of Hamas captivity

After 16 days, Asher and her daughters were taken from the apartment to what she described as a “so-called” hospital in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. Why “so-called”?

Because a hospital is “a place that is supposed to take care of people, but instead it was taken over by Hamas and they used it to hide hostages,” Asher said.

The Israeli military has repeatedly said Hamas hides terrorist infrastructure in and around civilian institutions in Gaza, such as hospitals – a claim denied by the militant group. The US has said that Hamas used the Al-Shifa Hospital, the largest in Gaza, as a command center and a place to hold hostages. Asher did not say where she was held.

Asher was joined by other hostages in the hospital complex – the first captives she had met since being taken into Gaza.

British barrister to represent Israel against genocide claims

A British barrister has been chosen to represent Israel in the International Court of Justice next week, as the country defends itself against a claim of genocide.
Professor Malcolm Shaw KC, a leading expert on territorial disputes and a published author on the law of genocide, was said to be “proud, honoured and privileged” to have been handed the case.
A graduate of both the University of Liverpool and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Professor Shaw’s selection signals Israel’s reversal of a decades-long policy of boycotting the UN court, which is based in The Hague.
