nana kid Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Booking a connecting flight there is a "Layover" Is this the time from when the first flight gets to the gate and then when the second flight loads ? gate to gate ? touchdown to liftoff ? Anybody out there with an idea
scubascuba3 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I've never calculated it but would expect it to be difference between landing and take off
CharlieH Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Arrival and departure times in most cases or unless stated otherwise. MOVED to Travel Forum 2

CharlieH Posted January 6 Posted January 6 It can also depend on what flights and how many need to transfer etc. I have personally known where the flight I was on was behind schedule and as a result they actually announced on the flight that the connecting flight was going to be held up so that passengers needing to transfer would not miss it.
Swiss1960 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Departure and landing times, both of which are times arriving/leaving gates.

Robin Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Many airlines will not let you book a short transfer(layover) time in case a flight is delayed. if you think you are in danger of missing your connecting flight, tell the cabin staff, they might help you make a quick transfer If you have checked tour bags, missing the flight can be a big problem for the airline as they are supposed to get your bag of he ongoing flight. if they do not, your bag will end up on the Carousel of the destination airport ( lost?) Good way for terrorists to get a bomb on the flight? Why take the risk? 2 hr should be the min time between connections. 1
