The use of a sad/confused emoji is the written equivalent of saying "whatever" when a pertinent response can't be found.

No, it's says "I don't get it" but most are too dumb to ask!

No.

It can say many things...

Including but not limited to:

a/ What incredible leap of logic has caused this person make such a statement ?

b/ I understand what you are saying but it has nothing to do with the question at hand.

c/ Why would someone be moved to violence because someone else used an emoji ?

The real problem is that our emoji set is too mild for the bunch of jerks we really are.  We need some deeply insulting and demeaning emojis that more clearly express our values. I want the emojis that would be outlawed in my home country. I say let the ex-pats be ex-pats :glare:

This thread is like sugar for ants. Now the retards will increase the silly sad and confused emojis.

What you said makes me sad......wha wha wha

Or does anyone else want to kick every poster that uses the sad or confused emoji in the teeth?

It doesn’t bother me in the slightest. It just goes to a level of undeveloped maturity and an expression of insecurity and lack of self confidence, it’s the immature nah-nah-nah-nah-nah syndrome that some here suffer from. It’s easy enough to deduce who’s doing it.

I'm confused.

Are you referring to the OP or those who use emoji...?

Thank you for proving my point.

Think I'll need to start using them more as didn't think they affected people.   Some of the things that people post (this thread for instance) is pretty sad.

I tend to ignore the 'negative' emojis, since no longer know who posted it.  Though easy enough to guess which troll it is that follows me.  In that aspect, they're pretty silly, even sillier, if like the OP, you get upset over them.

And everyone has a right to express their opinion of other's thoughts.   Why they don't do it in a reply, well that's obvious, as they probably don't respect the posters thoughts, and prefer not to get into one of those never ending repetitive justification  reply loops, and have better things to do.  I'm not that bored all the time, like now, and can't be bothered replying to some of the silliness posted.

So a sad emoji solves that for me ... :cheesy::drunk:

A grown man, upset that someone uses a sad emoji.  And then posts about it.   Not sure if that's funny, or simply sad.

Either/or…take your pick.
On the grand scale of things it’s irrelevant, just a bunch of electronic bits and bytes swarming around in digital land.

Probably just a retard thing. Morons don't use them.

And about above: If anybody has the urge to kick any poster here for any reason, that this person should consider seeing a mental health professional. Do you really want to kick anybody because of a few lines of text or an icon? Really. If yes, something is seriously wrong with you!

I reckon you should learn to deal with hyperbole and figures of speech and leave off the virtue signaling.

Agree wholeheartedly, and they should not be anonymous.

i very rarely used emojis before, once they became anonymous i stopped altogether

If you disagree, its too late to ignore the post. If you disagree but have nothing to say, say nothing

Really?

Why should I try to interpret if you actually would like to kick anybody or if you only write it and don't really mean it?

Of course I could use a confused icon for your post because it's confusing what you do. But somehow I don't think you will understand that.

So maybe next time just write in plain words what you think. Like:

I am annoyed when people use "sad" on my posts and I don't understand why they do that.

You are the one who posts comments which don't make sense.

And they you are surprised when people react the way they do.

You are the person with the problem. The rest of us just looks at your comments and think: What's wrong with that guy?

Nah Mr Noodle is a keyboard warrior, we all know he wouldn't talk like this to anyone in person.

I don't find this comment confusing but I'm mystified as to why you are like you are.

Why don't you step away from the keyboard and go buy yourself a hug ?

I love the irony.

People posting anonymously about people who post anonymously.

Personally I couldn't give a phuck whether I get "Likes" or 'Unlikes" or anything else. It's completely meaningless to me.

I think it is not meaningless - at least for me.

Recently I posted a comment on the Jeffry Epstein thread. I posted what I think about the situation, and I wondered if more people like my comment or people don't like it.

In that case I received a couple of positive reactions, and I think one negative.

That is insofar interesting to me to get an idea what members here think about a situation.

It could have been that lots of people disliked what I wrote. That happens often enough.

That is no reason for me to change my behavior, it's just information if more people think similar to what I wrote or more disagree.

I certainly don't agree with some of your comments but you're right in that the reactions do offer a feedback that should suggest some introspection to some...

But alas, the same are often too busy drinking their own Perrier to notice what othesr think of them
