Immigration officer said there's a rule about being in Thailand for no more than 90 days per 6 months on a tourist visa exemption. Is this new?

He asked that, as far i remember. I told him something like "thats the plan for next time" etc.
I guess i had luck that day. But maybe sometimes its also a thing of how one is approaching them.
So far, nearly always i was so lucky that Thai people could  see how much i appreciate them and the country. I feel bad for going that exempt way for so long (i had ME business visa before and just didnt want to leave...) Next time ill do it better ^^ And next time will come.
