Come to think of it, I don't recall a " hub" announcement for a couple of weeks!

When I saw the words "aims to" as well, I started looking for the TAT connection!

Focusing on the giant snaking lines of departing and incoming passengers would be useful.

Where will they find the English-speaking people to deal with the extra passengers, I wonder.

By now Thailand must be the hub for almost anything.

Does anybody have a list of all the Thailand hub promises from the last decades and what actually happened?

Is Thailand the hub for anything?

Of course there is the nightlife, but I don't remember if that was ever promoted.

Of course not, because there is no prostitution in Thailand.

I wonder how many inventions originated in Thailand apart from Red Bull and Mua Thai.

What about this? Coming from an Island of 27 million?

  • Black box flight recorder
  • Spray-on skin
  • Electronic pacemaker
  • Google Maps
  • Medical application of penicillin
  • And many more not to mention all the other ones from all other countries
  • Thailand is a hub of nothing
  • Confused 2

Let me help with the inaccuracy... "Over the past two decades, we had governments that saw opportunities and seized scammed them." ...

LoS is a hub for at least one thing - xenophobia, scamming and, exploiting/abusing foreigners. Sorry that was three things.

Amongst our weaponry are......

Nope. Not gonna happen. You have to offer significant helicopter and small plane charters. Especially in a nation that has hopelessly choked highways. Thailand needs to make some sacrifices. Something the lame authorities don't seem to understand.

C'mon everybody, it was just a typo.

Instead of wanting to be the Asian aviation hub, they mean to be the Asian aviation rub.

I believe plans are already in motion to build go-go bars inside BKK airport.

SIN, KUL and BKK are already THE hubs for air travel in SE Asia. Announcing a goal that has already been met (prior to the current PM taking office) are the only goals this PM can achieve.

Agree but BKK has to improve its immigration and baggage delivery time to catch up with Changi where it's a slow arrival if you're not in a cab, bus or train within 15-20 minutes of your plane reaching its gate. Check in and immigration on leaving is also a breeze with everything fully automated.

These things aside it offers far better value than Singapore for a stop off.

The use of two airports while making sense may not help the hub concept

The hub of all hubs - how comforting. But, before you apply for this position, you might want to clean up your tremendously bureaucratic immigration act and inch from 1'380'417 BC to the 21st century. Air travel, no TM6, border crossing TM6 mandatory (in some cases), the confusion with the nose-poking officers is evident. English, politeness and a smile would really help as this is the first direct face-to-face contact with the dirty farang, alien, khaek, jeck and whatever the semi-divine call the tourists. Latter should actually just dump their cash and valuables in a drum, best not even leaving the aircraft and bugger off again ;-)

Some last week's impression of the qualification to be come the hub-of-all-hubs ....:
