No.

Stand on stool, setup the noose, secure hands behind back, then kickpush the stool away. Standard.

Yes carry a stool, take cable ties, and don't forget your passport, pain killers and sun glasses, up a high mountain to hang yourself of course he did

Alternately the description of how he was found would suggest murder?

It's very common for suicide victims to tie their hands up.  The  number one suicide place in London is Parks and all the victims always tie up their hands before they put the straps around their neck so they don't struggle to remove the strap so it has nothing to do with murder.

Standard … my friend did it. 1. At home. 2 no face mask. 3. no hands tied behind back. Give your head a shake.

"....secure hands behind back,...."

Quite difficult to do with cable ties I would imagine?

They often do it, so that they cannot change their mind. If they do it without bind their hands together behind their back before kicking the stool away, the natural instinct is of course to struggle to pull themselves up etc.

Cable ties.

One around each wrist. then hands behind the back and slip another one through both and pull. It would probably take about 3 seconds for anybody to do it.

Why don't you try it?

".........so it has nothing to do with murder." Thank you Sherlock!

By the way , "The  number one suicide place in London is Parks" ? According to the City of London Corporation:- "Bridges remain the most common location type for suicide attempts within the City, with 87% attempted suicides occurring on bridges."

I would imagine that anybody comtemplating suicide by jumping off a bridge wouldn't think of, or be bothered with tying their hands up - what do you think ?

So they found them with his hands, tied with wires behind his back a shirt over his head and it red chair kicked out. I would be checking for any Russians in the area. Those Russians are pretty tricky. They could’ve made it look like a suicide I still can’t figure out how one would actually tie their hands behind their back then put a rope or noose around their neck, and they kick the chair out, then again TIT

Simply tie your hands in front..put the noose and shirt over your head..bend over and step through your hands..stand up and kick the chair out.  (A forced suicide could easily be constructed to look plain and easy)

A full examination of the cadaver may have shown abrasions, hand prints and bruising.

Stomach contents, Urinalysis and a full Toxicology analysis will take about one month.

Hopefully there will be some CCTV footage surface to clarify if another was involved.  RIP

Or maybe he ditched a girl and her brothers cousins and uncles weren’t very happy about bringing shame to the family and village and opt out of the balcony method.

Very good post, far too little information in the news report to make anything other than a guess, which others seem to be doing.

Autoposy report will be available to family and embassy.

You seem to think that is somewhat difficult. 3 cable ties and about 3 seconds.

What is your IQ?

Give it a try not as easy, can, but it wont be tight if done by oneself.

If investigated properly if murder there would be burn or struggle marks at wrist point.

The family will be notified of course, however it may be limited depending if there is an uncompleted Police investigation.

A copy of the Death Certificate will be sent to his Embassy.

The body will need to be officially identified and next-of-kin notified.

If there is an on-going investigation the body maybe kept until completed then released for a funeral.

As you mentioned there is very brief, sketchy information.

Standard in Thailand is a to jump off a balcony or rooftop.

"remote durian orchard on Koh Samui" is not standard for a foreign tourist. Did the man walk into the orchard carrying wire ties to secure his hands behind back and carry a stool? Why cover face and to do so before tying hands behind back? No auto or motorbike present?

Hopefully a full forensic search of the area will be done as well as interviewing possible witnesses to the passage of the victim and accomplices.

The police will notify the embassy and depending on their policy, an autosy will normally be required, often done at the Police General Hospital, Bangkok.

If no next of kin in Thailand, then embassy will have to find and notify.

Death certificate, can only be registered after autopsy, body identified, embassy letter, plus hospital and police letter to amphur office.

More in depth investigation, may only occur if there is some history of problems, or pushed for by the embassy.

CSI based on an initial report from Amarin TV

Thai media have named him - that's irrelevant here.

And that other publication confirmed cctv shows him alone, taking a taxi to the foothills of Tha Sok mountain heading to the plantation.

Been up there. There was a lady at the top of the small mountain who worked there who gave us as much durian as we wanted. She said the owner lived in Bangkok and never comes there. We ate durian for about an hour and gave her a good tip. 👍 My time there was much better than this poor guy. R.I.P

I've only ever heard someone hanging themselves with there hands tied in Thailand, why would you tie your hands behind your back before hanging? Or is it just in case you change your mind or do you automatically try to pull yourself up (grabbing rope) etc.

Exactly. Stops you using your hands. It is totally possible to suicide like this. Or it could be murder.
