Didn't they kill the last panda sent here? Or am I thinking of something else. Why can't they just leave the animals alone. I'm sure this new panda would be happier off with its mates in Bambooland

China isn't lending the panda, it's renting it.  Thailand will have to pay a fortune to China for the privilege of displaying the beast.  Typically it's US$1,000,000/year.

Can't they trade the recipe for somtam???

About twenty years ago drove for two days to go see the panda. The panda was sleeping in its air conditioned facility, woke up took a dump and went back to sleep. On the way home got appendicitis and had to have an appendectomy. Not the best trip I have taken.

China has agreed to lend a new panda to Thailand

Pandas becoming kind of a currency by now ?

These are living beings with feelings , they should be kept at least species appropriate if their natural habitat is destroyed already .

Don't forget how the chinese treat their other bears ...

He said that the new panda, which was requested by Thailand, will be kept at the zoo in Chiang Mai.

Wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just exhibit that bear that bit off somebody's arm a few days ago?
