We'll be doing some more reading on this.

According to both reports, LDL was calculated.

Located in a small town outside Korat.  Will have to see what sort of specialists are available in the big city.

If the LDL was by direct method it is most likely on the lab result as "direct method". My ldl was elvated (160) on my last test 2 weeks ago. Dr suggested statins, but I'm holding off to see if I can reduce it over the next 4 months. 6 months ago I had it checked at another holsipal (at a time I was talking more care with eting, and the direct method had it below 130 (forgot the actual value).

You just made her doctor lose face. Count yourself lucky he didn't prescribe both of you cyanide...

  • I don't want to take this thread in a different direction but do take some time to look in to high LDL cholesterol and statins.   Conventional medicine has always considered high cholesterol

  • Do it yourself, go to one of the many Medical Labs and have the cholesterol tests done in 90 days. Cheap and same day results - seek out a Doctor only if outside normal range.

You dared to question/push the doctor so they essentially relieved themselves of you. It happens. I hope you didn’t call them honey-bunny, too. 🙂

Doctor never saw me.  I stayed well out of sight.  This was all between honey-bunny and Dr. Incompetent.

This is pretty much it, I'm pretty sure it's the same in US/UK as well these days having a lot of friends who are doctors there and they all say something similar, but doctors are tired of fighting with patients, and now a lot just placate you and send you out the door.

If you're not interested in their advice, they're not going to spend time trying to convince you why they want to do it their way or explain, they'll just do what you want, let you walk out the door feeling smug, and try and end the consultation as soon as possible.

They have a list of 30 other people to see usually and they're probably already behind, just not worth the effort.
