Pattaya — Migrant people, including families with young children, disabled individuals, and elderly, have been spotted begging for money near Pattaya Beach, causing discomfort and concern among residents and tourists.

According to the complainants, their presence, particularly along Second Road and in front of the Wat Chai Mongkol Market in South Pattaya, has raised questions about the city’s efforts to address panhandling and its impact on the tourism industry.

These foreign beggars have become a familiar sight, despite prior interventions by authorities to clear the area.

With many thousands of illegal border crossing people from neighbouring countries with nothing more than

the rags on their back, no wonder some of them end up in places where they think they can beg...

If you sit and watch them it is amazing how many people give them money.  Mostly short time foreign tourists who probably think they are poor Thai people.

There’s plenty of Thais on the living on the streets too. And plenty of beggars in the uk fwiw.

Foreign beggars, or beggars of any nationality will just congregate where it is lucrative....quite often they are an organized team. See them in the world's tourist spots and police seem unable or unwilling to get rid of them....
